AFC Wimbledon forward Zach Robinson looks set to miss the rest of the League One season after picking up a hamstring injury in the 1-1 draw with Milton Keynes.
The 19-year-old was forced to come off in the 75th minute at Plough Lane on Saturday.
Robinson, who graduated through the club’s academy and scored his first League One goal in the 1-1 draw with South London rivals Charlton Athletic, has started every game since Mark Bowen arrived as manager.
The Dons have four games remaining this season and travel to already relegated Crewe Alexandra on Friday.
“Zach has got a problem with his hamstring. It is only a few weeks, but it probably rules him out for the season,” Bowen told the South London Press.
“I have been delighted with everything he has done – his application of things and the way he has taken information on.
“For a lad of such a young age and little experience, he has been a real bright spark for us.
“As far as I am aware, everybody else is okay.
“Coming out of the weekend’s game, there was a bit of stiffness and muscle fatigue in one or two players. But Zach is the only one, at this stage, who it doesn’t look good for.”
Bowen was able to welcome back Luke McCormick on the weekend. The 23-year-old returned from an ankle injury that had seen him miss the previous four games.
Asked if having the midfielder back was one of the positives he took from the weekend, Bowen added: “Yeah, it was good for Macca to have some minutes after being out for a few weeks.
“Ethan [Chistlett], who came on and did well against Charlton, was really sore after that game, but he came through okay when he came on [against Milton Keynes].
“It was important as well that Sam Cosgrove got some minutes so that he can feel more comfortable ahead of Friday’s game.”
