Amazon India and TVS Motor Company announced on Wednesday a partnership on the deployment of electric two- and three-wheelers, further boosting electric mobility in India.

As part of this partnership, a fleet of electric two-wheelers and tricycles from TVS Engine shall are used for Amazon’s last-mile deliveries.

The two companies will also test TVS Motor’s electric vehicle solutions through partner bases and delivery companies across the country.

“This will support our supply chain in minimizing the environmental impact of our operations and contribute to Amazon India’s goal of introducing 10,000 EVs into our fleet by 2025,” said Abhinav Singh, Director, Customer Fulfillment, Supply Chain and Global Specialty Fulfillment, Amazon India.

In 2020, the e-commerce giant said its fleet of vans in the country will include 10,000 EVs by 2025. The introduction of these EVs comes in addition to Amazon’s global commitment of 100,000 EVs by 2030.

‘With the great success of TVS’iQube Electric‘, we now plan to expand our electric offering across multiple segments and commercial mobility is at the right inflection point,” said Manu Saxena, Senior Vice President, Future Mobility, TVS motor Company.

TVS Motor is ready with product options for electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers for the business-to-business (B2B) segment, along with an ecosystem of connected service and alternative ownership.

In addition, the two companies will work together to explore EV use cases for various Amazon business groups for their network and logistics requirements.
