Disney’s acclaimed sports series Big Shot ended in June 2021. At the end of the first season, Marvyn somehow bonded with girls, and Westbrook was offered a better job. Now it gets interesting to find out what’s in the cards for these characters in Big Shot Season 2.
Disney+s Big Shot is a sports comedy-drama series that debuted on the platform in April 2021. Created by Brad Garrett, David E. Kelley and Dean Lorey, the series follows Marvyn, an uptight coach, and his journey after he loses his job.
What to expect from Big Shot Season 2?
In the first season of the series, Marvyn tries to adjust to his changed situation after losing his old job. Meanwhile, the girls he works with at Westbrook aren’t exactly the skilled players he’s used to working with. However, they certainly help in his growth as a person. As the season drew to a close, Marvyn formed a strong relationship with the girls on his team. Still, toward the end of the first season, he had to make a tough decision as he had been offered a better job at UCSB. Though it seemed the smarter thing to do, Marvyn is torn between the two options. Especially since the Westbrook girls feel betrayed.
When the series returns with Big Shot Season 2, it will pick up the story after the events of the first season. In the second season, we will see Marvyn make the difficult decision, and he will also have to face the consequences of whatever choice he makes. If he accepts the job at UCSB, it will be a new experience for Marvyn.
On the other hand, choosing to stay in Westbrook would keep him close to the girls he has bonded with over time. Meanwhile, the season will also reveal what the future holds for Emma. She also has to make an important choice about her future. Her mother advises that she enroll in a preparatory school in Wisconsin in the first season.
Will there be another season?
The first season of the comedy-drama series premiered on Disney + on April 6, 2021. And the season finale dropped on June 25, 2021. Speaking of the possible return of the series, in September, Disney delighted all fans waiting for the official word. The series has been officially renewed for Big Shot season 2. It is reported that production of the second season is planned for 2022, but there are no further details. Meanwhile, if all goes according to schedule, we can expect the second season to drop early to mid-2023.
Big Shot Season 2: Cast Details!
In the cast of Disney+’s comedy-drama series, John Stamos plays Marvyn Korn. Jessalyn Gilsig plays Holly Barrett. Richard Robichaux can be seen as George Pappas and Sophia Mitri Schloss as Emma Korn. Meanwhile, the cast includes Nell Verlaque as Louise Gruzinsky, Tiana Le as Destiny Winters, Monique Green as Olive Cooper, and Tisha Eve Custodio as Carolyn Smith.
Then viewers will see Cricket Wampler as Samantha Finkmanand and Yvette Nicole Brown as Sherilyn Thomas. If the series is relaunched for Big Shot Season 2, most of the prominent cast members from the first season will likely be back in their roles. On the other hand, there may also be a new addition to the cast for the second episode.
Why is Yvette Nicole Brown great as Sherilyn?
Sherilyn Thomas, the Westbrook Dean, played by Yvette Nicole Brown, could have easily been just another character. However, Brown transforms her into a wonderfully versatile character. She doesn’t have a lot of screen time, but when she does, she’s a force to be reckoned with. She strikes a healthy balance between the well-being of her students and that of the basketball team. Sherilyn is a rule follower who knows when to give up the compassion of those she loves. That’s a fantastic dean!
