The dreaded time of year for Christmas shopping has finally arrived — when patient husbands and boyfriends everywhere sigh in the knowledge that they’ll endure the grueling hours spent in and out of stores with their partners.
While many stores have seating arrangements for impatient shoppers to rest and get cozy, until now most retailers have no entertainment options.
Canada-based women’s store Artizia has come up with a creative way to keep everyone happy.
A video posted by @betches showed the inside of an Artizia location with a video game in the middle of the store with a customer friend playing it.
“Aritzia is putting a video game in the middle of the store this Christmas for the boyfriends fun,” the caption reads.
The clip has garnered over 80,000 likes and a slew of customer comments.
“I’ve never understood why people want to shop with their boyfriends,” one user wrote. “This is my hunting time.”
Others called the concept “genius.”
“Okay and where are the mimosas added to the dude stores,” another joked.
The new concept will certainly prove useful as the country gears up for one of the biggest shopping days of the year, Black Friday, which takes place in about two weeks.
During a presentation with investors late last month, Aritzia laid out a growth strategy that aims to increase its presence and revenue in the US through 2027, hoping to increase its 46 physical locations in the country by 8 to 10 locations per year.
The company also hopes to work on expanding its existing boutiques over the next five years.
