There were two carjackings reported by the New Orleans Police Department yesterday, including an attempted carjacking of a public transit bus. According to reports, officers arrested Terrance Johnson, 21, after he allegedly approached an RTA bus driver in New Orleans East on the 7700 block of Grant Street yesterday to steal the bus. The bus driver refused and the unarmed suspect fled on foot toward Wilson Avenue. Later that night in New Orleans East, three men with pistols and a rifle approached a victim from behind and demanded his keys on the 1,000 block of Chimney Wood Lane. The victim obeyed, and the subjects fled in the victim’s 2021 silver Chevrolet Traverse. The Chevrolet Traverse was found in a short time via OnStar. There is currently no other information available about the two incidents.
