A short summaryâ€
In the previous episode, a popular dating app maker, Jackson Wright, was accused of raping his employees and other women he matched with. Jackson rebranded the company to avoid negative publicity, and the CFO, Cress Gordon, was pleased. One of the employees, Lisa Rose, matched up with Detective Joe Velasco on the app, and they met at a bar. Lisa got very drunk and Velasco dropped her off at her house.
Furthermore, in Law & Order SVU Season 23 Episode 16, Lisa got scared and started screaming when she fell down the stairs and collapsed. Velasco took her to the hospital, where Captain Benson and Detective Fin joined him. Lisa opened up to Lisa that Velasco wasn’t doing anything wrong. Benson tried to convince Lisa why she was getting scared. Finally, Lisa told Benson that she and Jackson were a match in the app. He took her to his penthouse and raped her. She tried to tell her godmother Cress, but she couldn’t muster the courage.

When Cress found out, she exposed Jackson as a rapist, and the company’s stock price began to plummet. Jackson denied all charges, while Cress found four other women who had been assaulted by Jackson. The perpetrator also tried to bribe one of the victims, and the detectives found out. Unfortunately, Jackson got bail and used social media to shame Cress and Lisa. He told people that Lisa went on a date with the SVU agent to meet him and then change his mind. Meanwhile, Jackson accused Cress of planning to steal his intellectual property and use her own dating app. The FBI raids Cress’s office and Jackson also streamed it live. Cress tried to kill herself, but Benson saved her.
Cress makes a huge revelation in court
Velasco was asked to testify in court, and the officer insisted Lisa was projecting onto him. Lisa testified that she hadn’t come forward before because no one would have believed her. Benson asked Cress to testify in court. As Carissi questioned her, Cress revealed that she had also been raped by Jackson.

The legal proceedings had to be interrupted after such a major disclosure. But the judge ordered to move on. Cress said she and Jackson had been friends since college. Cress introduced Jackson to his wife, who died tragically. Carisi asked Jackson about his ex-wife, and he burst out saying that Cress was jealous for sleeping with her and her goddaughter. The judge saw it all and Jackson was found guilty in Law & Order SVU Season 23 Episode 16.
