If you know where to look, great discounts are often available on Apple’s popular — but often expensive — AirPods. Since Apple launched the third-generation AirPods in October and unveiled the new lineup, we’ve seen the entry-level second-generation entry-level price drop from $159 to $129. In addition, we’ve seen many retailers buy the second-generation AirPods. and the more expensive AirPods Pro and Max, which offer noise cancellation and better sound quality than the standard model, are starting to depreciate heavily. In fact, we’ve seen some significant discounts on the third-generation model that, despite the lack of the “Pro” name, looks more like the AirPods Pro than the original long-handled model.

Here we’ll take a look at the best deals available on each model, including the entry-level AirPods, the AirPods Pro, the third-generation AirPods, and the AirPods Max. Don’t forget, though, that Amazon Prime Day is just around the corner, with select deals starting on June 21 and running through Wednesday, July 13. While not a guarantee, Prime Day has in the past offered huge discounts on Apple earbuds, including the AirPods Pro.

The best entry-level AirPods (2nd generation) deals

Last year, Apple lowered the list price of the second-generation AirPods — now the entry-level model — from $159 to $129. However, it now only sells the model with a wired charging case, which charges via a standard Lightning cable. Despite their age, we found that the easy-to-use, second-generation AirPods still offer great wireless performance and reliable battery life, making them a great choice if you can live without a wireless charging case.

Right now, the best deal on Apple’s most affordable earbuds is available at AmazonTargetand walmart, where you can pick them up for $99.99. You can also buy the model with the wireless charging case for $134.99 from B&H Photo, which is about $15 less than the third-generation model currently in use.

Apple’s latest pair of true wireless earbuds support the company’s MagSafe technology. The shorter stems also allow for a more subtle design, while improved sound and features like sweat and water resistance, spatial audio support with dynamic head tracking, and improved battery life make them a nice improvement over the last-generation model. .

Deals were once hard to find on the third-gen model, but we finally started to see some worthwhile deals starting around Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Right now, for example, Apple’s third-generation AirPods are available from Amazon and walmartat $149.99, which is just $10 below their all-time low of $139.99.

AirPods (third generation)

The latest entry-level AirPods look similar to their slimmer sibling, the AirPods Pro, and feature a new charging case and shorter stems. They are also water resistant, unlike the 2019 model, and have better battery life.

We think Apple’s premium true wireless earbuds, the AirPods Pro, are the best wireless earbuds an iPhone owner can buy, regardless of the price. They have better sound quality than the above models, offer active noise cancellation and come with a MagSafe-ready charging case. The earbuds also come with interchangeable silicone tips and support Apple’s spatial audio feature, which adds an immersive surround sound effect to selected content.

In October, Apple launched a new configuration of the AirPods Pro with a wireless charging case that supports Apple’s MagSafe technology, just like the third-generation AirPods. These usually sell for $249, but right now they’re available at AmazonTargetand walmart for $174.99. That’s not as low as the price we saw this model drop to during Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but it’s still $74 off what you’d pay if you bought the earbuds directly from Apple.

The AirPods Max are not the iconic in-ears that have become synonymous with the AirPods name. Large and luxurious, they are made of aluminum, steel and mesh that remain comfortable during extended listening sessions. They also have excellent noise cancellation, Apple’s spatial audio feature, and a wide, balanced sound, even if they lag behind some of their peers when it comes to bass response. They’re not the best noise-cancelling headphones for most people — blame the $550 sticker price — but it’s hard to find Bluetooth headphones that sound better and have more intuitive controls.

Apple AirPods Max

Apple’s AirPods Max have exemplary build quality, sound phenomenal and keep up with the best noise cancellation.

While Woot recently lowered the AirPods Max to $409, prices have since gone up across the board. Nevertheless, the headphones are currently on sale at Amazon in most colorways for $429, a retail price we’ve only surpassed once or twice before.
