After seeing the most memorable and exciting third season, fans were excited to learn more about The Split Season 4. Sadly, things are pretty dire as the series creator decided not to return with more seasons. You read it right indeed. The Split season 3 was the show’s final season. But you don’t have to worry. Chances are they will return with a spin-off. Is the? Keep reading to know more.

Created by Abi Morgan, the show follows the life of Hannah Stern. It revolves around the Defoe family, who work in divorce law for the family business. However, Hannah joined the rival family law firm, while the youngest daughter appeared to be a nanny. The first season focused entirely on Hannah’s childhood trauma and challenges as she tried to cope with her parents’ divorce.

The Split Season 4: Will It Return?

BBC drama has been entertaining its audience for three seasons. The drama centers on a family struggle when work causes a mess in their lives. The entire series focuses on Hannah’s challenges as she balances her family and work. It grabbed the attention of fans and sparked a positive response. It received a 76% positive response on Rotten Tomatoes and 7.7/10 on IMDb. Despite this, the creator decided to close the show with the third run.

Reason behind the series cancellation

Morgan revealed that they always envisioned it as a three-season series. BBC wanted to continue the show, but she always thought of it as three seasons. The first season was intended to reflect Hannah’s childhood and the saga of her parents’ divorce. Meanwhile, the second season focuses on her affair and the third on her own divorce. She doesn’t want to push the characters though, because it could turn into a different show if they do. Morgan also explained that the family felt great at the center of the show and wanted to bring justice to the characters.

The Split Season 4

Morgan added that she always wanted to build such a story that shows that all divorces are not failures and that marriages are finite. She wanted to show the complex, robust and fantastic friendship that the bond between Nathan and Hanna portrays, and they achieved it in the third season. Nathan hadn’t closed the door and there is speculation that he might one day reunite with Hannah.

Will there be a spin-off?

The Split Season 4

While Abi Morgan decided to wrap up The Split with the third season, she definitely intended to bring the drama back. In a press release, she said she is ready to write more about these characters. So it suggests that there will be a spin-off that will continue Hannah’s journey. She told Radio Times that she would love to work with the actors again and will be returning soon. She likes to excite the audience with more intriguing and exciting stories. Stay tuned. TechRadar247 keeps you informed.
