LOS ANGELES — A body found burning and hanging from a tree in a popular park on Tuesday suspected suicide, authorities said.
The body was reported about 12:30 pm northeast of Griffith Observatory, near a merry-go-round and the Los Angeles Zoo, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
“There is no evidence of malicious intent,” LAPD Detective Michael Ventura said, adding that there was nothing to indicate that anyone had committed an act against their will.
The person was not identified on Tuesday afternoon and the report to the next of kin is still pending, he said.
