Charlton Athletic’s run in the Women’s FA Cup was ended on Sunday as they lost 2-0 at home to Everton.
The WSL side went ahead in the 34th minute at The Oakwood through Kenza Dali and extended their lead after the break with Anna Anvegard scoring at the second attempt after an initial save by Eartha Cumings.
Cumings had made an excellent close-range stop to deny Toni Duggan when the fifth round tie was scoreless.
But the Charlton number one could do nothing about Dali’s finish into the top corner of the net.
Cumings again saved from Duggan, this time with her legs, early in the second period.
The Toffees nearly made it 3-0 but Claire Emslie’s strike clipped the top of the crossbar.
Charlton are back in FA Women’s Championship action on Sunday at Sunderland.
The Addicks are fourth in the table – 11 points behind leaders Liverpool.
Crystal Palace are at home to bottom club Coventry United.
