It’s been nearly three years since Electric Dreams dropped its finale. And eager viewers are still anxiously waiting to hear Electric Dreams season 2. Will the series return with another series? As of now, the network has not opened up to the future of the show. Furthermore, the series ended bitterly when the president of North America was exposed for using the word “kill everything” in his speech. But it remains unclear what the president’s motive is, and he wants to tell everyone. So will they be exploring it in Electric Dreams Season 2? Here’s everything you need to know.

Based on Philip K. Dick’s book titled Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep? Michael Dinner and Ronald D. Moore developed the series. The show was initially slated to air on AMC, but later shifted to Channel 4 in the US and UK. Shortly after, Amazon Prime Video bought the series rights and it was later streamed worldwide on the streaming platform. Electrical Dreams debuted on September 14, 2017 and ran until March 19, 2018.

Will it ever happen?

The first season of Electric Dreams saw a surge in viewership and it quickly became the most watched show on Channel 4. The series explored how things work in the digitally powered world. Many love the concept of the series and are also waiting to learn more about it. But unfortunately Channel 4 and Amazon Prime have not revealed the future of the series. Currently, the series status is in limbo. It’s been more than three years. The network has remained mum when it comes to Electric Dreams season 2.

Apart from this, Amazon Prime has not disclosed the number of viewers the series has received. So it remains unclear whether the show did well on the streaming platform. However, it got a 73% positive response on Rotten Tomatoes, while it got 68 out of 100 on Metacritic. Even the series scored well on IMDb, receiving a 7.2/10 positive response. Furthermore, the series received six nominations for its exceptional performance, but the network did not renew the series for its second season.

Electric Dreams Season 2: Who’s in the cast?

Electric Dreams Season 2

Well, the series followed an anthology style, with each episode delving into the storyline of an entirely new character. So if it returns for the second season, it could also explore different storylines in each episode. So there’s a chance the show could bring an entirely new cast. But there’s a possibility that the first season’s cast will return to play a new character. These include Richard Madden, Steve Buscemi, Liam Cunningham, Anna Paquin, Greg Kinnear and Bryan Cranston.

Spoiler alert!

Electric Dreams Season 2

Each episode appeared as a standalone story based on Philip’s book. The first episode dealt with the ghettoization of telepaths. Meanwhile, the second episode explores a 342-year-old woman’s dream to visit Earth, which has long since ceased to exist. The finale ended with a hi-tech American city where the president’s one word caused chaos among citizens. So if the second season is renewed, it can explore more storylines from Philips’ book.

Electric Dreams Season 2: Release Date

Electric Dreams Season 2

The first season of Electric Dreams aired in 2018, and it’s been three years since fans waited for Electric Dreams Season 2. So if the network renews the series in the summer of 2022, we can expect that until the fall, the show could undergo production. Therefore, Season 2 of Electric Dreams will air sometime in late 2023.
