The government announced the Indian draft on Wednesday. released Telecommunications Account2022, in which it proposed a provision to abolish fees and fines from telecom and internet service providers.



The ministry has made a proposal to refund fees if a telecom or internet provider surrenders its license.

“Looking for your opinion on the design Indian Telecom Bill 2022″, Minister of Telecom Ashwini Vaishnaw he said in a post on a social media platform in which he also shared the link to the draft bill.

The last date for public comment on the draft is October 20.

Under the draft, the central government may waive “in whole or in part any fees, including entrance fees, license fees, registration fees or other fees or charges, interest, additional fees or penalties” for any licensee or registered entity under the telecom rules.

The bill proposes to exempt “press releases intended to be published in India” from correspondents accredited to the central or state government from interception.

However, the exemption is not granted in the event of a public emergency or in the interests of public security, sovereignty, integrity or security of India, friendly relations with foreign states, public order, or to prevent incitement to commit a criminal offense, according to the design.

In such cases, “any message or class of messages, from or to any person or class of persons, or relating to a particular subject matter, submitted for transmission by, or transmitted or received by, any telecommunications service or telecommunications network, shall not be transmitted, or be intercepted or detained or disclosed” to the appropriate official, according to the draft law.
