A man was arrested on the 10 Freeway in Pomona on Tuesday after leading authorities in a truck chase
presumably carjacked after a collision.
Authorities began chasing the man in Claremont around 8:55 PM.
During the initial pursuit, the suspect crashed his vehicle into a construction truck with a trailer attached, then left his vehicle and carjacked the truck. The man then made his way through Ontario and then to Pomona.
An armored police vehicle managed to stop next to the truck as it was traveling west on the San Bernardino Freeway and pinned it to the center partition east of the Dudley Street exit.
The man climbed out the window of the truck and tried to flee on foot on the highway, but was soon restrained by a police dog and apprehended just after 9:30 p.m.
