Elon Musk, founder of SpaceX and CEO of Tesla, has a knack for sparking – and responding to – controversy.

In September, the billionaire launched a Cyberwhistle, acknowledging the fallout from his failed Twitter deal, and earlier this week unveiled his latest apparent prank product: “Burnt Hair” perfume.

Musk stated in an earlier Tweet that the Boring Co., the businessman’s tunneling company, would release a fragrance for men to “make them stand out in a crowd!” and “Get noticed if [they] walk through the airport!”

“Burnt Hair,” a men’s fragrance from Singed, priced at $100 a bottle, has already sold 10,000 units, per a follow-up Tweet from Musk. He changed his Twitter bio to “Perfume Seller” and wrote that he “can’t wait for tomorrow’s media stories about $1 million worth of burnt hair being sold.”

“Burnt Hair” sold out on Oct. 18, according to a Tweet from the billionaire.

In 2018, Musk’s Boring Co. released a limited line of 20,000 flamethrowers to raise $10 million for its tunnel-building tests.

The billionaire has also released a number of products that hit back at investors expressing doubts about his car company: Tesla Tequila reefs on an April Fool’s Day joke and a few satin shorts mocking short sellers.
