The sequel has now been confirmed by Netflix, but the sequel’s release date has not yet been confirmed for Enola Holmes2. But there’s some doubt as to whether the entire sequel was wrapped up or just the Cavill scenes completed. The September 2022 release sounds like a good bet for now to fit in on the same release date that worked so well for the first movie and as filming will be done in early 2022.
Who’s coming back for The Sequel?
Millie Bobby Brown will be back, of course, as Enola Holmes told EW when she fell in love with her during the production of the first movie. Sherlock Holmes is played by Henry Cavill, but there is no confirmation whether Sam Claflin will return as Mycroft Holmes or not. It looks like it wouldn’t be hard for them to bring Claflin back. In an interview, he made it clear that he enjoys this role. He did not expect that this role would be so exciting and that he would fall in love with the character and the people involved. At the September 2021 Netflix TUDUM event, Louis Partridge confirmed his return as Tewkesbury. Helena Bonham Carter as Eudoria Holmes, Adeel Akhtar as Lestrade and Susan Wokoma as Edith respectively.
Some newcomers are also joining the sequel: Sharon Duncan-Brewster, David Thewlis, Hannah Dodd, Abbie Hern, Gabriel Tierney, and Serrana Su-Ling Bliss. It is unknown which character they play.
Will the sequel take over from where the first ended?
Fans are interested in the last minute but more in the Enola Holmes family reunion, which is what Enola plans to do after the events of the film. After rescuing the lord, Enola went back to look for her mother and found a coded newspaper that her mother persuaded her to meet at the Royal Academy in the evening. When she moves into the room, she had a surprise reunion with her mother, she apologizes for leaving her. Eudoria knows it wouldn’t be safe to tell her where she was going, as she is involved in the suffragist movement. She tells Enola that she will always be there when she needs her. All she has to do is leave a code on the newspaper.
