Former Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg is expected to plead guilty to criminal charges related to his charges by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office in an investigation into former President Donald Trump’s businesses, according to two known names. with the case and a public court filing.

Weisselberg is expected to be sentenced to 5 months in prison as part of that plea that could come Thursday morning, the two sources said.

Other terms of the plea were not immediately disclosed, but the sources said Weisselberg is expected to cooperate against the Trump organization itself. However, there is no indication that he will cooperate in any investigation into the former president.

Weisselberg and the Trump Organization were charged as part of what prosecutors have described for 15 years as an “off the books” scheme to help top officials in the Trump Organization avoid taxes. Weisselberg, 74, was accused of evading paying taxes on $1.7 million of his income.

Weisselberg, who surrendered after his indictment in June 2021, faced court in October.

Last week, the judge, Juan Merchan, denied Weisselberg’s attempt to dismiss the charges, saying the evidence presented to a grand jury was “legally sufficient.”

A spokesman for Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg declined to comment.

The Trump organization is facing separate charges, but there is no charge of criminal misconduct against Trump, who has faced long-dormant criminal investigations on multiple fronts that have attracted national attention since the FBI opened its Florida estate last year, Mar. -a-Lago, searched.
