Startup of logistics software in Sydney Unloading has acquired Melbourne freight specialist CIA Logistics in its first deal to expand nationally.

Founded in 2020 with a focus on reducing inefficiencies in the trucking industry and reducing environmental impact, this is Ofload’s first acquisition, growing its workforce to over 120 employees in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

The terms of the deal have not been disclosed. CIA Logistics founder Tony Couttie becomes GM at Ofload.

Ofload founder and CEO Geoffroy Henry said the CIA Logistics brand will be maintained while the operations, sales and finance teams continue to report to Couttie.

“Tony has built an incredible business, and the natural synergy between our teams was evident as they worked together to digitize analog road transport for some of Australia’s leading brands,” he said.

“This exciting milestone for Ofload is just the start of our next growth phase, which is focused on expanding our footprint and building our digital ecosystem and network of shippers and carriers.”

Henry said Ofload will become the fastest-growing startup in the local logistics industry, with revenue growing 500% year-over-year, less than 12 months after last December’s $20 million Series A surge and the merger will accelerate that growth. .

“Unifying both companies will accelerate Ofload’s goals of increasing shipment visibility, minimizing manual and analog processes and ultimately eliminating inefficiencies in the Australian freight industry,” he said.

Founded in 1987, CIA Logistics operates air, road, rail and sea freight solutions across Australia and is a leading independent provider of freight services to some of the country’s leading companies and brands.

Freight management, brokerage and logistics expertise, in addition to shipping management system technology, will be merged with Ofload’s domestic end-to-end digital road freight solution.

The consolidation will support Ofload’s plans to reduce the number of empty trucks on Australia’s roads and eliminate all waste in road freight transport, while continuing to meet the rapidly evolving needs of both shippers and carriers.

Tony Couttie said they are excited to be part of a mission-driven company that they believe will be a game-changer for logistics.

“Ofload’s technology will provide a wealth of new opportunities for our customers and carrier partners and will support us in expanding our reach in the Australian freight landscape. We see the integration of CIA Logistics in Ofload as a perfect match,” he said
