While there are no plans for Fruits Basket Season 4, the creators have announced a Fruits Basket Spin-Off series set to release in 2022. Keep reading to know more.

As Fruits Basket Season 3 comes to an end, so does the excitement and curiosity about Season 4. We can clearly see the unrest among fans about the end of this season.

Studio Deen was the original producer of the series, but was later joined by Netflix. The anime revolves around an orphaned girl, Tohru Honda, who lives with his classmate and his cousins, Yuki, Kyo, and Shigure Soma.

After a while she realized their secrets and tried to help them. The name of this romantic anime series came from a game played in a Japanese elementary school, which is referenced in the series.

Fruit Basket Season 4 Release Date

The first season of Fruit Basket contained 25 episodes that aired from April 6, 2019 to September 21, 2019. The second season also contained 25 episodes that aired from April 6, 2020 to September 21, 2020.

Season 3, released on April 5, 2021, continues and has aired 11 episodes to date. With the end approaching, are fans excited to know if there will be another season? Is the excitement worth it?

The sources have been quoted as saying that the manga from which the series was adapted has been shot in its entirety. So if there is another season planned, the makers will have to come up with a new storyline. For now we can’t say anything and it’s uncertain so far.

Fruit Basket Season 4 Cast

To Honda

Tohru Honda is the main hero of the Fruits Basket series. She is the only little girl of the late Kyoko and Katsuya Honda.

Tohru is an understudy at Kaibara Municipal High School. She loves to cook, introduces herself as a great girl, and has after-school work as a janitor in the office to pay for her college tuition to try not to be a burden to her family members. She is portrayed as a courteous, idealistic, free, incredibly kind and benevolent person with a supportive nature.

Akito Sohma

Akito Sohma is the main enemy of the Fruits Basket series. She is the lonely girl of Ren and Akira Sohma.

Akito is the top of the Sohma family and fulfills the job of a “divine being” of the Chinese zodiac. Akito is portrayed as irritable and malicious and has actually and honestly drawn countless Sohmas. On the other hand, Akito herself is a victim as Ren forced her to live like a man because she was afraid Akito would force her into Akira’s heart. Akira, trying to comfort Akito, accidentally indoctrinated her into believing that she was “exceptional” and would be cherished by the Zodiacs no matter what she did.

Kyo Sohma

Kyo Sohma is one of the deuteragonists of the Fruits Basket series. He is the supportive child of Kazuma Sohma, who took him in after the death of his mother and the resignation of his natural father.

Kyo is reviled by the soul of the Cat, a creature who could have been important to the Chinese Zodiac if the Rat hadn’t tricked him into missing the feature. An unpredictable person from the Zodiac is not only Kyo victimized, insulted and has a fate of compulsion, he also has a real structure that is an unusual and harmful beast – which he changes when his Juzu dab wristband is removed. He has put all his misfortunes on his most notable enemy, the Rat, Yuki Sohma, and devoted his life to crushing him.

Isuzu Sohma

Isuzu Sohma, all the better known by her nickname Rin, is one of the main characters of the Fruits Basket series.

She is the horse of the Chinese zodiac. A cool, stubborn, happy and wildly free lady who has disdain for the way various individuals of her group submit to Akito Sohma, Rin is extremely closed off due to her harmful and horrible past. Since being fired by her parents, Rin has been living with Kagura Sohma and her family.

Rin had a genuine bond with Hatsuharu Sohma prior to the start of the series, but later she says goodbye to him to keep him safe until she can figure out how to break the taunt.

Fruit Basket Plotline

Tohru Honda, an orphaned girl, receives love and care from an unknown family. Some members of the family were cursed under the zodiac curse if the person becomes weak, stressed or hugged by a person of a different sex, the person would turn into a zodiac animal.

As a responsible and caring lady, after realizing the secret, Tohru decided to help them. The smart and wise girl with her intelligence and humor led herself to the root of the curse. She taught us to be inspired for our goals and never lose hope.

Her character as the main character inspired us to consider those who were always there for us in our good times and bad.

Fruits Basket Season 4 Unlikely, But Spin-Off Series Confirmed

While there have been few to no updates on Fruits Basket Season 4, there is some good news. Earlier it was announced that the makers are working on a Fruits Basket Spin-Off. The upcoming Fruits Basket Spin-Off will focus on Tohru’s parents, Kyoko and Katsuya, and their relationship.

The announcement was made via Anime TV’s official Twitter account, which read: “Fruits Basket upcoming anime project: “The Story of Kyoko and Katsuya” anime in production for 2022! (Format not yet revealed) The story that targets Tohru’s parents!”

Given the huge popularity of the Fruits Basket series, it was very likely that the series would return one way or another. And this announcement also gives hope to the possibility of Fruits Basket Season 4. This is because the spin-off series proves that the creators are actively working on the series and will not leave it like other series in the near future.

Fruits Basket Spin-Off Series is scheduled for release in 2022.
