Reboots and revivals are tricky things. While some manage to live up to the expectations of the fans and build a large fan base, others simply sink under the weight of these expectations. Unfortunately, Syfy’s Day of The Dead series fits more into the latter category. However, some fans still believe that the series has a lot of potential and that it should return with Day of The Dead season 2.
Syfy’s Day Of The Dead is a post-apocalyptic zombie horror comedy series inspired by George A. Romero’s cult classic of the same name. The show follows six strangers living close together in a small Pennsylvania town, living their daily lives as if it were any other day.
But a desperate struggle for survival binds them together, something neither of them expected. When a group of flesh-eating zombies shows up in their normally quiet community, they find themselves in exactly that pickle. They all come together to fight the zombie and defend their small community, including Amy, a life coach.
Is Day Of The Dead Season 2 Coming?
The first season of Day Of The Dead, which debuted on Syfy on October 15, 2022. It came to a close, with the season finale set to air on December 17, 2021. With regard to Day of The Dead season 2, as of now, there is no confirmation from the network about the second season. We know that the first season received mixed reviews from the critics.
And the season’s viewership was by no means record-breaking either. Therefore, the future of the show is currently at stake. There’s huge potential in the franchise, but we’ll have to wait for an official announcement about the show’s future to clear the picture.
Who will return for Day Of The Dead Season 2?
In the all-star cast of the zombie series, Keenan Tracey plays Cam McDermott, the son of a local high school police officer. Daniel Doheny plays Luke Bowman, Natalie Malaika plays Lauren Howell and Morgan Holmstrom plays Sarah Blackwood. Meanwhile, the cast also includes Kristy Dawn Dinsmore as Amy, Miranda Frigon as Paula Bowman and Christopher Russell as Trey Bowman.
We also have Dejan Loyola as Jai Fisher. If the series is relaunched for Day Of The Dead Season 2, we can expect most of these protagonists to return to their respective roles. At the same time, the next season may also introduce some new characters to the story.
Why is Cam the best character on the show?
Cam McDermott, the series’ underdog protagonist, seems to be stuck in hopeless orbits. She defies stereotypes while demonstrating his underappreciated street wisdom. Cam is the one who slowly but surely uncovers all the subtle clues and evidence to locate his father, Detective McDermott. Cam uses his advanced emotional intelligence to feel the compassion left behind his father. Filtering through the deceit and conflicting information provided throughout the series to find his father.
Cam was wise enough to keep his zombified father alive, realizing that he wasn’t fully converted. Not only did Cam face many of the zombies himself, but encountered his fears and reacted under pressure. But so did his father’s mutation, which shows how brave he must be to move on without a family.
