Around 1,000 wouldn’t be too bad, and while Blu-ray sales aren’t all that important these days, they help with the odds of a new season.
How well does The World’s Finest Assassin light novel sell? The World’s Finest Assassin Volume 5 sold under 5,000 copies, and The World’s Finest Assassin Volume 6 also sold under 5,000.
The sales of light from the best killers in the world are bad, but I’m curious how well volume 7 does as it should show the full anime boost. The sale of parts 5 and 6 takes place before the anime aired.
How many copies does The World’s Finest Assassin have in print? As of 2021-12-23, the series ‘The World’s Finest Assassin’ had 1,000,000 copies in print.
It is not in the top 200 most popular light novel series of all time.
How much merchandise is there for? The best killer in the world† So far there are no figurines, which is a shame. There are also less than 30 pieces of merchandise made for this series so far.

I think it’s clear by now that this series hasn’t sold very well based on the numbers we have now, but it will be much easier to see how well this anime sold over the next 3 to 6 months.

The World’s Best Killer Season 2 Release Date
As of January 2022, The World’s Finest Assassin Season 2 will not have a release date as it has not yet been confirmed. It’s also hard to say at this point whether there will be a second season of this anime.
But even if it is announced, the earliest release date for The World’s Finest Assassin Season 2 would be in 2023.
There is more than enough source material for a second season, but it seems that this series struggled to make more of the numbers we have now.
This series doesn’t seem that popular on social media either. The official Twitter account has less than 30,000 followers†
Streaming probably made some money for this series, as it’s quite popular in China, and it actually did quite well on Crunchyroll.
Streaming alone isn’t enough to get a second season though.
Therefore, we have to wait and see how well the new light new volume will sell to see the anime boost. And also if some merchandise and figures are made for this series.
We should know that in the next six months. Then we can see if this anime is over or if it will continue for another season.
If volume 7 can sell at least 20,000 copies and one to two new figures with some merch are announced in the coming months, then there will probably be a season 2.
I think if Kadokawa doesn’t announce the second season this year, it won’t happen, so let’s just hope for the best.
