ohnny Depp has celebrated his defamation case victory against his ex-wife Amber Heard with a curry night.
The Pirates of the Caribbean actor, 58, treated himself and friends to a £50,000 feast at a top class Indian restaurant in Birmingham, according to reports.
He was joined by his musician friend Jeff Beck, 77, and around 20 others in their entourage as they took over the Varanasi restaurant on Sunday night.
The party arrived at 7pm and left around midnight with the venue closed to other customers during that time.
While there, they were treated to starters of shish kebabs as well as chicken tikka and tandoori king prawns.
The main course enjoyed included butter chicken, paneer tikka masala, lamb karahi and king prawn bhuna.
All the food was accompanied by nans, rice and salad.
Depp then finished off his meal with panna cotta and cheesecake rather than going for a traditional Indian dessert, it was reported.
They accompanied their dinner with a selection of cocktails and rosé champagne.
Mohammed Hussain, Operations Director of Varanasi, told MailOnline how he had initially thought it was a “wind up” when he received a phone call earlier in the day advising him that the Hollywood star wanted to come down.
Mr Hussain was impressed by Depp, calling him “a very lovely, down to earth bloke who spent a lot of time speaking with the staff, our friends and family and was happy to pose for pictures with them.”
While he said he had been sworn to secrecy over the exact total of the bill, he confirmed it had been “easily in five figures” with “money no issue”.
MailOnline claimed the bill was believed to have come to a total of £50,000 and Depp was said to have paid for the whole amount.
The Standard has contacted a representative for Johnny Depp for comment.
The Edward Scissor Hands star was in Birmingham to accompany Beck on stage for his performance in the city’s Symphony Hall.
He recently confirmed they are releasing and album together after he also joined him on stage at the Sage Gateshead in the north of England, Glasgow and London’s Royal Albert Hall.
Their lavish curry night came after Depp successfully sued ex-wife Heard, 36, for $50million over a 2018 piece she had written.
He won the trial by jury in Virginia last week where Heard was ordered by a judge to pay Depp $10million in damages.
Heard has vowed to appeal the verdict.
Also the jury found in favour of Heard who said she was defamed by Depp’s lawyer when he called her abuse allegations a hoax.
Heard will receive $2 million out of the $100million she was seeking in her countersuit against the star.
