    Kansas City, Missouri police involved in shooting outside Westport Ale House

    The Missouri Highway Patrol is investigating an off-duty police shooting in Kansas City’s Westport on Sunday night. The Highway Patrol said there was a disturbance at the Westport Ale House around 11 p.m. were fired. The Highway Patrol said three off-duty KCPD officers were working security at Westport Ale House. Troopers said those officers also started firing with their rifles. The Highway Patrol said six people were hit by gunfire. One of those victims has died. The Highway Patrol is in the process of determining whether those six people were shot by the suspects who initially opened fire or by the off-duty officers at the bar. Shortly after the shooting, Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas spoke to the media to discuss the shooting. The mayor spoke about the ongoing series of gun violence in the city in 2022

    The Missouri Highway Patrol is investigating an off-duty shooting in Westport that left Kansas City officers on Sunday night.

    The Highway Patrol said there was a disturbance at Westport Ale House around 11 p.m. At one point, the disturbance moved outward and investigators said numerous shots had been fired.

    The Highway Patrol said three off-duty KCPD officers were working security at Westport Ale House. The officers said those officers also started firing with their rifles.

    The Highway Patrol said six people were hit by gunfire. One of those victims has died. The Roadside Assistance is investigating whether those six people were shot by the suspects who initially opened fire or by the officers off duty at the bar.

    Shortly after the shooting, Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas spoke to the media to discuss the shooting.
