Kengan Ashura is a fighting anime created by the Japanese animation studio Larx Entertainment. The anime, which looks like Baki at first glance, was one of the animations that attracted a lot of attention and attention in the world last year. The last time was on October 31, 2019, with the second season. We will evaluate the third season of the series. We looked at aesthetic battles with bare hands, bloody and dead in the anime. It was one of the best anime of 2019. According to the IMDb data, which received a high rating of 8.0 from users. The series is an adaptation of a manga of the same name. The manga series written and illustrated by Yabako Sandrovich has been published in Ura Sunday & MangaONE magazines. The Netflix licensed anime adaptation, on the other hand, drew more sound than its manga. Fans are wondering if there will be a third season. It’s been a while since the series last aired. Before we get into the details of the third season, let’s take a look at the past and the expectations.

What happened in previous seasons and what is expected?

In the world of this series, deadly battles have taken place between fighters on behalf of traders since the Edo period. In the past, there was fierce competition among merchants to gain the palace’s supplier status. Shogun finally intervenes and orders it to be turned into a duel with what he will determine when there is animosity. Then Kengan fights who secretly continues. This process has come to this day. The two companies are in a fighting tournament to win the contract. The president of the Kengan League is also elected in the same way. Challenge the president tournament is held, and high-fee companies can participate in this tournament. This tournament is called the Kengan Death Tournament.

Our hero is Tokita Ohma and Kazuo Yamashita. Yamashita is the ordinary not so good salesman who works for the Nogi Group. Witness a fight in the back streets one day. A teenager effortlessly knocks down a man nearly three times his size. When Yamashita asks his name, Tokita Ohma gets his answer. Ohma has been a fighter of the Nogi Group and the president of the Nogi Group has commissioned Yamashita to take care of it.

The fight scenes and drawings of the series are also very successful. Anime looks like 3D at first glance, it is just as flexible as 2D. The highly anticipated tournament will continue in the third season, and the winner of the tournament who loses 16 out of 32 people can be determined in the third season. Ohma is the favorite of most of us, but we all know that all the characters are good too. Will he be eliminated or will he be the winner of the tournament? It will allow the third season to answer these questions.

Will there be a third season of Kengan Ashura?

From Dec 3 2021, at the time of writing, Larx Entertainment, Netflixor an anime related company has not yet renewed the anime for a third season† The second season of the series was released on Netflix on October 31, 2019. Since animes get approval for a new season even after years, the elapsed time doesn’t make a new season impossible. Since animes are for-profit productions, the fact that the anime has a major distributor like Netflix keeps the possibility of a third season alive. But more important are the viewers of the anime. Let’s take a look at the key factors for a new season.

Manga status (source material)

The original series, written by Yabako Sandrovich, was published from April 18, 2012 to August 9, 2018 and is no longer running. The series consists of 27 parts in total and no new parts will be added. However, the sequel titled Kengan Omega tells two years after the original series and is still ongoing. The final installment of the sequel manga series, which aired in Japan on February 19, 2019, was released on September 16, 2021 and reached a total of 10 volumes.

The anime has been adapted from the main series and 21 parts have been adapted from the anime in the first two seasons. Considering that the Kengan Omega series is a sequel that can be adapted to anime, we can say that there is enough source material for another season. It is also possible to make a sequel anime titled Kengan Omega.

popularity

Despite the manga series having enough script to make a new anime season, this alone is not enough. In terms of popularity, we see that the anime only has 17k followers Twitter, and it doesn’t rank well in the popularity rankings on Myanimelist. However, this part is a bit tricky because Netflix animations don’t always manage to be popular in Japan. On the contrary, there is a strong popularity all over the world. Although it has been a while since the last season of the anime, it is still more sought after than popular anime like Plunderer or Given. With this popularity, it is possible for Netflix to give anime another season a chance.

When is the third season of the anime?

The new season of the anime has not been confirmed, but as a result of the evaluation we made above, we think that the new season of the anime is still possible. There is no great popularity in Japan, and the main manga series Kengan Ashura is no longer in progress. However, worldwide there is still strong popularity and the Netflix license makes up for this financially. While we’re concerned, we think there’s a 50% chance of the anime getting a new season. Given the renewal and production time, we think the new season of the anime could be released in 2023 – 2024

Is there a trailer for season 3?

It is not possible to see a trailer without the new season endorsement of the series. We can only see one new trailer from the animation studio a few months before the broadcast of the third season. To remember, we’re sharing one of the latest trailers of the series with you. Stay tuned for updates.
