Who is Randy Orton?

Randal ‘Randy’ Keith Orton was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, USA, on April 1, 1980 – his zodiac sign is Aries and he is a US citizen. He was twice the Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) Hardcore Championship, the youngest World Heavyweight Champion in WWE history, and has won numerous other championships.

He was raised alongside his younger brother and sister Nathan and Rebecca, by their father Bob Orton Jr. who was a professional wrestler, and their mother Elaine, who was a nurse – Randy’s grandfather Bob Orton was also a professional wrestler.

Randy attended Hazelwood Central High School where he started wrestling, although his father urged him not to go there as wrestling would keep him on the road and away from his family. After the entrance exam in 1998, Randy joined the US Marines but was discharged in 1999 after being twice absent without leave (AWOL) and after disobeying his commander – Randy was sentenced to 38 days in a military prison at Camp Pendleton.

He launched his wrestling career in 2000 and was initially trained primarily by his father.

It was in 2001 that he signed a contract with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) – his last appearance for WWF was on March 16, 2002, when he lost to Tommy Dreamer at WrestleManix X8’s Fan Axxess. He went on to win the Intercontinental Championship and after losing there, he defeated Chris Benoit at SummerSlam, becoming the youngest WWE World Champion when he was 24 years old.

Randy struggles to this day and is considered one of the greatest WWE wrestlers in the history of the sport, but he is also known for his acting career. He was cast to play the lead character in the 2009 action movie “The Marine 2” but was replaced after sustaining a collarbone injury.

He played a supporting character in the comedy film “That’s What I Am” and was then cast to star in the action movie “The Marine 3: Homefront”, but he was replaced due to his poor history with the Marines. He won lead roles in two films – “12 Rounds 2: Reloaded” and “The Condemned 2” in 2013 and 2015, respectively, and went on to play a supporting character in a single episode of the action series “Shooter”. Most recently, Randy has appeared in two comedy films – “Changeland” and “Long Shot”, both released in 2019.

Randy was once a drug addict and nearly committed suicide in 2006 after an overdose. He has anger management problems and has gone to therapy.

He is a supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement and has led several peaceful protests.
