However, Paramout+ didn’t wait for the end of the second season to announce the renewal of the third season. Long before the second season premiere, Paramount announced Star Trek Picard Season 3 on September 8, 2021. Production for the third season began in late 2021.
Meanwhile, on March 8, 2022, showrunner Christopher Monfette tweeted: “And that concludes season three of #StarTrekPicard† As you watch and enjoy season two, you know that the next and final chapter in Picard’s story is something truly remarkable. More than grateful for @TerryMatalasthe cast, crew and all of our extraordinary writers who made it possible.”

Star Trek Picard Season 3: Expected Storyline?
The creators of Star Trek Picard have said that each season is a standalone story. However, Picard season 2 left important storylines that would definitely be explored in season 3. dr. Adam Soong presented a top secret map in 2024 Los Angeles called “Project Khan”, hinting that the evil eugenicist might become a genetically engineered supervillain in Star Trek Picard Season 3.
Soong may also be the mysterious threat responsible for creating a “transwarp” channel, which the compassionate Borg Queen has promised to protect. Season 3 could be an epic ending for Jean-Luc Picard and TNG, as there must be a worthy adversary for the united characters of Star Trek The Next Generation and Star Trek Picard to face.
