Vulnerable and isolated residents living in Bankside, London Bridge, will be presented with Valentines Day care packages as a gesture of friendship and solidarity.

Following on from their successful ‘Christmas Cheer Care Packages Campaign’ collaboration, Living Bankside and sustainable Developer, Fabrix will reach out to to elderly and vulnerable local residents – struggling due to financial, health and mobility issues.

The Valentines care packages will include essential food items but also edible treats to warm hearts. Recipients of the Valentines care packages will also include vulnerable people who live alone. Living Bankside Executive Chairman, Amir Eden explained the importance of reaching out to such people.

He said: “The Covid pandemic has been very challenging for local people – in particular the most vulnerable members of our community. Some of these residents are struggling with additional challenges such as physical disabilities, language barriers and mental health issues. They can be hesitant to reach out to access any help that’s available. We want to find ways to deliver assistance and provide direct support which is tailor made to their needs.”

He added: “It has been wonderful to see local businesses, residents and employees coming together to support one another. We are grateful to FABRIX for their sponsorship and other local business who have contributed to the scheme.”

Agnus MacIntosh, 88, who lives on Thrale Street, is a beneficiary of the Christmas Cheer care package. She said: “It’s lovely to know that there are such kind people in the area that think about us. Thank you to Fabrix and Living Bankside for thinking of me and thank you for your help.”

Chris Ortner, Hospitality and ESG Delivery at Fabrix said: “Over the past years, Fabrix have continued to connect with inspiring people and organisations across the Borough of Southwark, particularly in the Bankside Ward. Partnering with Living Bankside to deliver the Christmas Cheer care packages, was a pleasure for our team and it’s fantastic to see how small acts of kindness can resonate within a community. These items were essential for particular people, but you only know this if you connect and listen to those in need.”
