The Ukraine international was on the bench for Saturday’s Premier League win over Everton and will play his first game since his homeland was invaded by Russia.
Guardiola, speaking ahead of the game, talked of how he felt appearing for City would be good for the 25-year-old.
“I think it will be good for him and to show that the reason why he is here is because he is a magnificent player,” said the City boss.
Elsewhere, usual cup goalkeeper Zack Steffen is still missing with a shoulder injury and the fact young players such as Liam Delap, James McAtee and Kayky played in a U23 game on Monday night means they are unlikely to feature.
Jack Grealish and Gabriel Jesus could also ramp up their returns after coming off the bench at Goodison Park.
