Revenge of Masamune-kun is an anime series in the romantic comedy genre released as only one season in the fall of 2017. Many anime lovers got to know the series through the anime, but the story is based on the manga series written by Hazuki Takeoka . Created by silver link studio, the creator of popular anime of recent years such as Grandchild of the wise man and BofuriMasamune Kun No Revenge is licensed by crunchy rolls† Originally broadcast on local broadcasters such as Tokyo MX, KBS, Sun TV, AT-X, BS Fuji between January 5, 2017 – March 23, 2017, the series consists of a total of 12 episodes. It delighted fans with the OVA episode coming a year after its release, but it’s not enough. Will the show have one second season instead of an OVA episode? We’ve collected everything we know about the series so far.

What was the storyline of the anime?

like a child, Masamune Makabe was rejected by a rich and beautiful girl named Adagaki Aki, who nicknamed him “Pig’s Foot” because he was overweight. Masamune, devastated by this situation, tries to change his appearance in years. Masamune, now a handsome but narcissistic high school student, decided to take revenge. His plan would make Adagaki Aki fall in love with himself and eventually brutally reject him.

When Masamune went to the school where he had been transferred, he found that Adagaki Aki had been transferred to his school. With his plan in progress, Masamune first begins to form a relationship with “The Brutal Princess”, but despite his best efforts, his first attempts fail miserably. Surprisingly, when Masamune is finally on his way to exact revenge, he receives a mysterious letter addressing him by his old nickname. Unless Masamune can figure out the sender’s identity, his plan will be complete before he even starts!

Will there be a second season of Masamune Kun No Revenge?

silver link or a related company does not yet have one renewed the series for a second season† There have been no statements or leaks from their Twitter accounts or from the producers as to whether the anime will have a second season. In general, animes can have a second season after years; the situation is slightly different from regular TV dramas. There is no official announcement, but it is possible to speculate when some of the key factors are taken into account. Manga status, popularity and financial situations are the main factors for making predictions.

Option for second season in terms of manga status

As we mentioned at the beginning of the article, manga series of the same name as the anime is written by Hazuki Takeoka and illustrated by Tiv. Masamune Kun No Revenge anime is a manga adaptation, so it’s critical whether the manga will provide enough source material for a second season. Published on Monthly Comic Rex by Japanese manga publisher Ichijinsha, the manga series consists of a total of 11 volumes. The manga published between October 27, 2012 and June 27, 2018 is no longer running.

The anime series covers the first 6 parts of the manga in the first season. The remaining 5 parts may be enough for a second season. However, since the manga can’t offer more, we can see at least one more season. While the manga provides ample resources, it is not the only criterion.

popularity

The series’ overall popularity rating is 92.0% based on Myanimelist data. This is a good popularity rating, but it is not broadcast by exclusive broadcasters such as NetflixAmazon Primeor hulu† This type of streaming service offers financial support to boost the prospects for the second season, but it seems that the anime’s disc sales are quite significant in the absence of this opportunity.

My Next Life as a Villainess third season

In general, an anime is expected to sell at least 4,000 copies on average to be renewed for a second season. Only when this number is exceeded will the decision for a second season be considered profitable. The anime that sold 953 units in the first volume, generally remained below 1,000. Sales are far from targets. The second season of the anime is nearly impossible in terms of disc sales.

Looking at the overall popularity of the anime, we see that it has an above-average search volume on Google. Although not as popular as No Game No Life or Vinland Saga, it has a higher search volume than popular anime like Banana Fish or The Dragon Prince. On the other hand, it is followed by 55,000 people on Twitter† In general, an anime is expected to reach at least 100,000 followers for a new season endorsement. Looking at the overall popularity, it seems that the anime needs more refresh for another season.

Masamune Kun No Revenge Season 2 Release Date

A second season of the anime has not been confirmed† Looking at the disc sales and financial conditions, the second season is quite unlikely. On the other hand, since the manga is no longer active, a new season order to support manga sales is unlikely. However, the anime world is full of surprises. Its high overall popularity is the only thing that keeps the possibility of a second season alive. We consider the chance of a new season no more than 30%. If the show is renewed for another season, the production period will be about a year. In this case, we can watch a new season on the early 2023 at the earliest† Until then, we recommend My first girlfriend is a gal and TONIKAWAwhich are beloved romantic comedy anime series.
