murder probe has been launched after a young man, believed to be an 18-year-old, was knifed to death in Enfield in London’s first fatal teenage stabbing of the year.

Police officers were called to Ayley Croft at 6.10pm on Monday where a male was found with stab wounds.

Despite the efforts of emergency services, he died at the scene. His next of kin have been notified and are being supported by specialist officers.

Homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command have been informed. A cordon remains in place at the scene.

A teenage boy was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. He has been taken into custody.

Anyone with information is asked to call police via 101 quoting reference CAD 5753/07Feb. To remain anonymous contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

A total of 30 teenage killings took place in London in 2020 – surpassing the 27 killings seen in 2017, which had been the highest in recent years, and the previous peak of 29 teenage homicides in the capital in 2008.
