Hallie was raised in Yardley by her journalist father David Jackson and her mother Heidi who worked in a local theatre. Hallie has no siblings, but she grew up with her neighborhood friends who all attended Pennsbury High School.

She was also physically active in college, playing soccer and volleyball.

Career as a journalist

After graduation, Hallie moved to Salisbury, Maryland, where she spent several months at WBOC-TV before moving to Dover, Delaware, to work as a reporter.

A year later, she moved to Hartford while working in New Haven, Connecticut in 2008. She moved a few more times before being invited to work for the Hearst Corporation in Washington, DC and after staying there for two years, began working for the NBC News network as their journalist and field reporter. She gained recognition after reporting on Ted Cruz deciding to run for president, and in August 2016, Hallie was offered to anchor the “MSNBC Live” program, which aired at 1 p.m.

Hallie gained some popularity in the US after being chosen as the White House chief correspondent in early 2017, and she’s held the position for over three years now, while also appearing as the host of several MSNBC and NBC shows since she also serves as a fill anchor.
