There is no lucky cardholder in Wednesday’s huge Powerball draw, and the jackpot has grown to an estimated $800 million, game officials said.
The jackpot was around $700 million going into Wednesday night’s draw, but none matched all five numbers 19-36-37-46-56, as well as the Powerball, 24, it said on its website.
The next draw is Saturday, when the jackpot is estimated to hit $800 million — the second highest in the game’s history, according to Powerball officials.
The biggest ever was the $1.586 billion jackpot won in 2016.
The odds of winning a jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million, which is greater than the odds of being struck by lightning in the US in any given year. That number is 1 in about 1.2 million, according to the National Weather Service.
Since August 3, no one has won the Powerball jackpot.
