Renewable Energy Software Platform Orkestra has raised $1.1 million in a Seed Round to support major energy companies roll out new projects.

The increase was led by the local seed stage VC Tidal Ventures with support from angel investors with ties to the energy industry. The capital will be used to expand Okestra’s team and roll out the product in the Australian market.

Orkestra Energy from Melbourne was founded by former New energy ventures advisors Chris Cooper, James Allston, and Michael Jurasovico. The SaaS platform provides tools to help energy companies plan, sell and optimize the rollout of new energy implementations. Orkestra already counts Origin Energy and Energy Australia among its more than 30 customers.

Cooper, CEO of Orkestra, said: companies are rethinking how they generate energy, with the commercial and industrial segment revolving decentralized energy sources such as solar, batteries and fleet electrification. An It is expected that by 2030, one third of the energy supply will come from on-site solar energy and batteries .

“The challenge, however, is that selecting the optimal mix of energy solutions is complex. For energy suppliers, there is a clear need for software solutions that help improve both the economy and the effectiveness of their deployment,” he said.

“Our goal is to be the intelligence layer underpinning clean energy projects around the world. Teams that previously used Excel spreadsheets or outdated software will immediately see the value in Orkestra’s offering. So far we have been blown away by the feedback from customers”

Orkestra’s software solution is designed to reinvent how solar, battery and e-mobility solutions are viewed and sold, so that power companies can quickly and accurately evaluate the best solution for their business customers.

The platform combines a user-friendly interface with advanced algorithms and analytics to reduce the cost and time required to evaluate project feasibility and optimize project outcomes from both a sustainability and economic perspective.

Wendell Keuneman, general partner of Tidal Ventures, said the clean energy transition presents a growing opportunity for software startups.

“We see an opportunity for Orkestra to become a major data player, providing the technology that can move the market by producing fast, accurate modeling to unlock the implementation of new renewable energy projects and ensure they are predictable and profitable. for clean energy suppliers and their customers,” he says.

“The clean energy transition represents a once-in-a-generation disruption to the energy market, and a unique opportunity to combine profit with purpose. We are excited to support Chris, James, Michael and the Orkestra team in their mission to support the rollout of abundant, clean and cheap energy.”
