Who is Patrick Labyorteaux?

Patrick Francis Labyorteaux was born in Los Angeles, California, USA, on July 22, 1965 – his zodiac sign is Cancer and he is an American national. He is an actor, TV writer and producerwho is perhaps best known for his portrayal of Andrew “Andy” Garvey in the romantic family series “Little House on the Prairie,” created by Blanche Hanalis and aired from 1974 to 1983. The series starred Melissa Gilbert, Michael Landon, and Karen Grassle, and followed the Ingalls family living in the Midwestern United States in the 19th century – it won 17 awards and was nominated for 42 others, including three Golden Globes.

Early life and education

Patrick was abused by his parents and abandoned before he was a year old – he was eventually adopted by Ronald Labyorteaux who was a talent agent and died in 1992, and Frances Mae Labyorteaux who was an actress and died in 2012. Patrick’s brother Matthew was adopted by Frances and Ronald in 1966 before he turned one and his sister Jane was adopted two years later.

Patrick became interested in acting after Frances took him to the sets of her films and TV series and as she was also a theater actress, Patrick got to act in several of her plays (uncredited).

He joined his primary school drama club and performed in all the plays staged there and after him enrolled in a high school, he also started appearing in stage plays and was praised for his acting skills. After his matriculation exam in 1983, Patrick did not enroll in a university, instead focusing on his career as an actor.

Roles in TV series

Patrick has been credited with about 60 roles in TV series and movies and in this article, we are going to list some of his most notable performances.

He made his TV series debut in 1973 at the age of eight, when he guest-starred as Eric Barrington in the episode “Child of Rage, Child of Tears” of the Christian dramatic series “This Is the Life”, and three years later Bill Sherwood starred in a single episode of the live action show “Shazam!”.

He gained recognition in 1976 when he was cast to play Young Rory Armagh in the mini-series “Captains and the Kings” based on the historical novel of the same name written by Taylor Caldwell. He gained recognition after playing Ted Kennedy in the biographical film “Young Joe, the Forgotten Kennedy” in 1977, while also appearing in the drama “Opening Night” in the same year. In 1986, Patrick played the supporting character Justin in the romantic comedy film “Prince of Bel Air”, and he went on to appear in several critically acclaimed films such as the comedy “Summer School” in 1987 and the science fiction movie “Terminal Entry” in the same year, as well as in the teen dark comedy movie “Heathers” in 1988.

Patrick met his other half – Tina Albanese – when they were introduced to each other at a party in 1994 by a mutual friend. Tina is a film writer, producer and editor, who is perhaps best known today for her work on the series “Picket Fences” (1992-1995), “JAG” (1995-2000) and “See Dad Run” (2012-2015 ). The two got married in a private ceremony attended by their closest friends and family on October 3, 1998, and welcomed their son Jeau Bennett in July 2001.
