The third season of the German period drama, which premiered in 2020, ended with a cliffhanger at Wall Street in 1929. Since then, fans have been waiting to find out what the future holds for Inspector Garth in Babylon Berlin Season 4.

Created by Tom Tykwer, Achim von Borries and Henk Handloegten, Babylon Berlin is an award-winning German period drama series. The show, based on Volker Kutscher’s crime novels, follows Inspector Gereon Rath in the 1920s in Berlin. Together with his partner Charlotte Ritter, he is on a mission to take down the extortion mafia in the city. Ever since the pandemic caused TV shows around the world to be canceled and delayed, fans of the series have been concerned about Babylon Berlin Season 4.

What could Babylon Berlin season 4 be about?

The third season of the series ended on a cliffhanger. When Wall Street collapsed, so did other stock markets around the world, including the Berlin Stock Exchange. Meanwhile, Rath successfully stopped Böhm from committing suicide. He also made Wendt admit that he had planned the murder of Benda. The season came to an end when he met Helga and Nyssen.

When the show returns with Babylon Berlin Season 4, fans will want it to further explore the blossoming romance between Charlotte and Rath, as the two shared a kiss last season. We have yet to discover why Rath consumed a significant amount of morphine, which led to hallucinations. The third novel of the series titled “Goldstein” centers on an American mobster, Abraham Goldstein.

We know that when and if the fourth season is made, it will be based on the same novel. Since the fourth season is set in the early 1930s, we can expect a lot more action and drama. At that time, Nazism completely engulfed German society, and Kutscher’s book mentions it. As a result, it is reasonable to predict that the program will address this one way or another.

Cast Details!

The cast of the German historical drama is led by Volker Bruch, in the role of Inspector Gereon Rath. The show also stars Liv Lisa Fries as Charlotte Ritter, Leonie Benesch as Greta Overbeck, and Misel Maticevic as Edgar Kasabian. Lars Eidinger appears as Alfred Nyssen. Additionally, the cast includes names like Fritzi Haberlandt as Elisabeth Behnke and Jens Harzer as Dr. Ann Schmidt.

Babylon Berlin Season 4

The cast also includes Karl Markovics as Samuel Katelbach, Christian Friedel as Reinhold Gräf, and Jördis Triebel as Dr. Volcker. When the show returns with Babylon Berlin Season 4, we can expect it to bring back the majority of the main cast. On the other hand, there may be some new faces in the fourth season, including Mark Ivanir.

Is Babylon Verlin based on real events?

The fictional city of Babylon Berlin is not based on a true story. The program is based on the crime novels of Volker Kutscher. Kutscher received the Berlin Krimi-Fuchs Crime Writers Prize for the series, which was a huge hit. Some of the characters readers encounter in Kutscher’s work are non-fictional. However, it would be a mistake to assume that his work is based solely on fiction. Kutscher’s crime series is historically accurate and his understanding of the Weimer Republic era played an important role in his story.

Babylon Berlin Season 4 b

Because Berlin was largely a stronghold of left-wing politics at the time, there is hardly any mention of Hitler in the first two seasons of ‘Babylon Berlin’. It may come as a shock to fans to learn that many of their beloved characters are nothing more than fragments of the author’s vision and have never existed before.

Babylon Berlin Season 4 Release Date!

The third season of the German drama series Babylon Berlin premiered on SKY1 from January 24, 2020 to February 28, 2020. Meanwhile, regarding the fourth season of the series, here’s what the fans need to know. Since the third season of the series ended on a cliffhanger, there is a very good chance that the series will return.

Babylon Berlin Season 4: Director Sheds Light On Future Plot | entertainment

Even though there’s no official announcement from Sky1 or Netflix about the next season yet, we know the fourth season is in the works. In 2021, The Hollywood Reporter reported that the production company Filmgesichter was casting for 2,000 extras for the series’ fourth season.

In September 2021, Show’s official Instagram handle confirmed that production for the next season is complete. Meanwhile, there are no updates on the release date of the upcoming fourth season, but we can expect it to drop sometime in the second half of 2022.
