Record of Ragnarok is a fighting-themed action anime series released by Netflix in the summer of 2021. Netflix lists dozens of anime each year, many of which are published under the Netflix master license. Anime lovers are delighted that Netflix regularly shows these works of Japanese culture around the world. Animated by graphic and originally released on Netflix on June 17, 2021, Record of Ragnarok was adapted from manga like many other animes. While Graphinica Studio is not a new studio, they currently have very few products, and Record of Ragnarok is the most valuable anime the studio currently has. The manga was written by Shinya Umemura and Takumi Fukui. As we’ve come to expect from many fighting series, the series’ manga, which progresses within the tournament framework, has become one of the most widely read in Japan. (It is currently surpassed Kengan Ashura and Bakic.) The anime’s first season has already enticed viewers to read the manga. But the real question is, has the anime been extended for a second season

What is the storyline of the anime?

Every 1000 years, the gods meet in heaven to decide the future of mankind. In short, we can call this meeting the “Human Survival Conference”. But in the final encounter, because of the mistakes of humans, the gods decide that humanity must perish. But one of the gods will resist and make an offer to give humanity one last chance. According to this proposal, a battle called “Ragnarok” will be held between gods and humans. In this fight, the winner of 7 out of 13 fights becomes the champion. Let’s see if mankind can defeat the gods and say stop till the end.

Will there be a second season of Record of Ragnarok?

According to the announcement shared on the official website and the official Twitter account of the anime on August 18, 2021; Record of Ragnarok has been renewed for a second season. The new season date was not included in the shared renewal news. However, a long production time may be required. In addition, it was announced in the news that the anime will also be broadcast on Japanese networks. An important visual is also shared with the fans.

season 2 renewal

manga

As we mentioned at the beginning of our article, the anime’s manga is written by Shinya Umemura and Takumi Fukui and illustrated by Ajichika. The series, published in Japan by Tokuma Shoten and Coamix, will also meet readers in English in the coming days thanks to Viz Media. The series published its first installment in Monthly Comic Zenon on November 25, 2017. The good news is that the series is still going on. Anime not only makes a profit on its own, but also increases the sales of mangas. The continuation of the series also means that more source material can be adapted in the anime.

The manga series released its final installment on September 18, 2021, reaching a total of 12 volumes. (The next part will be published on December 20, 2021.) The first season of the anime included the first 5 parts of the manga. It seems that there is almost as much source material as in the first season. Since the manga series is ongoing, there will be no problem regarding source material to create new seasons. The manga of the series has 7 million copies in circulation as of June 2021, which is really good popularity. The presence of a strong manga behind the anime series enhances the possibilities for further seasons.

Popularity and other details

Anime series are for-profit productions, so having a strong distributor like Netflix behind the series keeps it in a good financial position. From this perspective, it is likely that the series has already received sufficient financial support for a second season. Netflix gave the series a chance for at least one more season, as the story left many doors open for a second season. Looking at Google searches, we see that it has a higher search volume than other animes released during the same time period. One reason is that it airs on Netflix, and the viewers look pretty good.

given second season

The anime is official Twitter page is currently followed by 36k people. Although this number of followers is low, it has serious popularity all over the world. However, Netflix animes don’t always manage to be popular in Japan, and the previous season didn’t air on local networks. For this reason, we think that the popularity of anime in Japan will increase in the coming days.

When is the second season of Record of Ragnarok?

The first season of the series was announced in December 2020 and didn’t meet audiences until six months later. Due to the lack of a long time between the announcement and the broadcast, the series can prepare for a new season in about a year. The Graphinica studio behind the anime is a fairly new studio trying to prove itself. The studio will be just as eager as the fans to prepare for a new season. From November 17, 2021However, the release date of the new season has not yet been announced. Given the average production and renewal time, the series’ second season will likely meet with audiences in summer 2022† We will update our article with official updates. Stay tuned.
