Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio has announced the rollout of Jio True-5G services in India’s southern cities, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. With this, the company’s 5G services are now available in eight cities across the country.

Jio announced beta testing of its Jio True-5G services in four cities – Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Varanasi – ahead of Diwali on October 5.

“Jio extends the reach of Jio True-5G to more cities, namely Bengaluru and Hyderabad. JioTrue5G, in these two technology-focused cities, will help realize the true potential of some of the latest technologies that will serve humanity and improve the quality of life of Indians,” said Reliance Jio in its press release.

Just like the launch of its 4G services, Jio is back with a welcome offer to 5G. As part of Jio Welcome Offer, select customers are invited to use Jio’s 5G services with unlimited data at no additional cost. Users can access data at up to 1 Gbps.

“Jio users experience speeds from 500 Mbps to 1 Gbps on their smartphones and use very large amounts of data,” the company added.

The Jio welcome offer will be made available to selected customers through the MyJio app. This offer is only available to users with an active Basic plan worth ₹239 or more.

As part of the offer, users can use unlimited 5G data without worrying about running out of data. Only 4G usage is counted towards the user’s daily data entitlement.
