Trust Jio on Tuesday announced the Beta trial of its True-5G services on Dussehra for Jio users in four cities – Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Varanasi.

The invited customers in these four cities will get unlimited 5G data at speeds of up to 1 Gbps+.

The beta trial service for other cities will be announced gradually as cities continue to prepare, the company said.

The users will continue to use the beta trial “until a city’s network coverage is virtually complete to provide the best coverage and user experience for every customer,” it said.

The company said invited “Jio Welcome Offer” users will be automatically upgraded to the Jio True 5G service without having to change their existing Jio SIM or 5G handset.

Akash M. Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd, said the Prime Minister has made a clear call for an accelerated rollout of 5G across India to realize the full potential of a digital India.

“In response, Jio has developed an ambitious and fastest-ever 5G rollout plan for a country of our size,” said Ambani.

Jio said it is also working with all handset brands to make their 5G handsets work seamlessly with Jio True 5G services, giving customers the widest range of 5G devices to choose from.
