Unfortunately, we have bittersweet news for series fans that the future of Law & Order: Organize Crime is currently in limbo. The network has not yet announced whether Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 3 is in the works. However, the show has remained the network’s signature series. So we expect the show to return with a possible third season. But it looks like fans will have to wait a little longer. Keep reading to know more.
Created by Ilene Chaiken, Dick Wolf and Matt Olmstead, the series revolves around Elliot Stabler, a former detective of the Manhattan Special Victims Unit. He returns to New York after retiring from the police force. He later joins a task force to find out who killed his wife and later joins the organized crime agency permanently. Now he is an undercover cop trying to unravel the mafia mystery associated with the corrupt police.
Will it ever happen?
Unfortunately not! The series is currently on the air and the ratings are not yet known. In general, the network evaluates the ratings of the series based on its running time and based on that, the network renews the series. But the second season of Law & Order: Organized Crime was renewed before the first season could air on June 3, 2021. The network has not revealed the reason behind this delay. But it seems that the series is focused on the ratings.
Apart from this, the series has been given a lower rating. According to Nielsen Aggregates, the second season lost 45% numbers overnight, which is pretty shocking. Further, the second season failed to win a new audience. Even on Rotten Tomatoes, it got nearly 45%. A fall in the rating could therefore be the main reason for this slowdown. However, the network hasn’t canceled the show yet, so we can hope the network will renew Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 3 soon.
Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 3: Who Could Be in the Cast?

The protagonist of the series, Christopher Meloni, will no doubt return as Detective 1st Grade Elliot Stabler. He returns with Danielle Mone Truitt as Sergeant Ayanna Bell and Tamara Taylor as Prof. Angela “Angie” Wheatley. Apart from them, Ainsley Seiger returns as Detective 3rd Grade Jet Slootmaekers with Dylan McDermott as Richard Wheatley and Nona Parker-Johnson as Detective 3rd Grade Carmen “Nova” Riley. Furthermore, there is a chance that the show could return with new faces as well.
What will happen next?

As of now, Stabler is undercover. He works on a mission to find a mole and a twisted cop’s connection to the mafia. In Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 2 Episode 19 entitled ‘Dead Presidents’ is about another mafia drama. After millions are stolen from Webb’s employees, he asks Donnelly and Stabler to catch the thief and recover the amount. The employee also demands that the perpetrator be punished. But the task force sees this as an opportunity to take down Webb and the Brotherhood. But they will end up in dangerous territory.
