The wealth of Sara Martins

As of early 2020, Sara Martins’ net worth is estimated to be over $600,000, earned through a successful acting career, dating back to 2000. She has participated in several local and international productions during her career, including working on numerous films, both mainstream and independent.

early life

Sara is of Cape Verdean descent, and although she was born in Portugal, her family did not stay there long as they moved to France when she was three years old. From an early age she developed a love for dance and the performing arts, which led to her taking ballet lessons. Her talents and dedication eventually led to her joining the Opera de Lyon, which is known for its focus on varied performances, including dance, theatre, opera and other productions. True to its name, it is known as the home of the inaugural performances of several popular operas such as “Erwatung” and “La Dame Blanche”.

With her performance, Sara became the first colored dancer to compete in the opera. However, because of her race, she was unable to advance to the Paris Opera, which had neither colored dancers nor wanted one in their midst, because it didn’t fit the symmetry they had already achieved with predominantly white dancers from all over Europe. This diverted her attention and later turned to theater more as it gave her more opportunities.

Education and career start

Sara completed a high school education in France and obtained her Baccalaureate with a focus on theatre.

After her entrance exam, she then completed the Diplôme d’études universitaires générales (DEUG) course in France, with a focus on law. She continued her studies and stayed in Paris, where she became a student at the Ecole de Théâtre Les Enfants Terribles, after which she enrolled at the French National Academy of Dramatic Arts, considered one of the most selective drama schools in the country. There she completed her acting degree and learned to perform proficiently in three languages.

One of her first professional projects was a local production of “Le Radeau de la Meduse”, which was shown at the Theater National Populaire, based on the film of the same name, which told the story of the destruction of the French frigate de Meduse.

More theater work came her way and she starred in local productions of “Race” and “Le Costume” or “The Suit”. In 2001, she made her television debut in the French show “Police District”.

During this part of her career, she devoted more time to film work, with some of her notable projects including “Beyond the Ocean”, “Apres l’ocean”, “Girlfriends” and “Tell No One”.

Death in paradise

In 2011, Sara was cast in the TV show “Death in paradisewhich is an Anglo-French partnership with BBC in association with France Televisions. This would mark her debut on the British scene, as well as her first work with comedy.

Her experience portraying cops in the past helped her role immensely, as she played Detective Sergeant Camille Bordey who works on the fictional island of Saint-Marie. Other stars of the show include Ben Miller who plays Detective Inspector Richard Poole, with the duo solving various crimes, mostly murders on the island.

Production for the show was delayed a bit, as she injured her Achilles tendon while working on a stunt intended for the first episode. Throughout the series, the show has enjoyed high ratings and has been running for eight seasons, with a ninth and tenth already slated for production.

After Poole was killed during the third season, she teamed up with Kris Marshall as a new character introduced to the show. She was subsequently written out during the fourth season, when her character returned to Paris. The decision to leave the show was her ideabecause she felt she needed to grow and take more risks in her career.

Life after death in paradise

Martins has worked primarily for television since then, appearing as a recurring character on the show “American Odyssey”, which aired on NBC and followed the story of a US military team who discover that a US company is financing terrorist groups from Mali; The show’s stars include Peter Facinelli and Anna Friel.

Around the same time, she also worked on the French show “The Law of Alexandre”, which is part of the larger French series “The law of…”

In 2017, she made a guest appearance in the French series “Capitaine Marleau”, a show about the title character who is captain of the National Gendarmerie, highlighting her various eccentricities. Her latest project is an appearance in the British series “Father Brown”, which is based on several short stories by GK Chesterton. The show is one of the longest running in Britain and follows the titular character, a priest who solves various criminal cases in the 1950s.

Private life

Sara is single and she has not spoken publicly about any romances she has had in the past. She may have a child because she has posted pictures of a baby on social media, although it is not known whether it is hers or not. If it is her baby, it is likely that she is a single mother and is raising the child alone. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and spending time in different locations around the world, often visiting France and her country of origin Portugal. She is also a big fan of movies and often watches popular movies in her spare time.
