37 mins: Another yellow card, this time as two Egypt players sandwich Mane. It’s a bit ip-dip-do as to who gets the ticket and the referee settles on Fathi.
33 mins: It’s been really sloppy from Egypt on the few occasions when they have managed to get decent possession inside the Senegal half. A couple of passes straight to green shirts, another straight off the pitch.
28 mins: Magical from Salah, who stands up Gueye, skips past him, and then wiggles between two more defenders but the finish isn’t up to the same londonbusinessblog as the dribble as he squeezes tamely at Mendy’s near post.
27 mins: More Senegal pressure, with Ciss playing pretty much as a left-winger at the moment. Mo Salah wins a free-kick on halfway to relieve a bit of pressure.
23 mins: Same again!
A little bit more fortune about the way Sarr gets to the byline this time but his delivery is menacing again. Once again, Mane is just on his heels and can’t react in time.
19 mins: Cracking play from Ismaila Sarr. The Watford man latches onto Koulibaly’s superb switch of play and skins his man before whipping across the face of goal.
Mane can’t quite get on the end of it at the far post.
17 mins: Not the smartest from Nampalys Mendy. He goes through the back of Fathi, gets a warning, and then 30 seconds later goes in late on Marmoush as well.
He’s the first Senegalese player into the book.
13 mins: Edouard Mendy’s first bit of work of the night is pretty straightforward as Egypt try to catch Senegal out with a quick free-kick to the back post but Hamdy’s header is loopy and the Chelsea ‘keeper plucks it out of the sky with ease.
10 mins: That save shouldn’t detract from the fact that Senegal have made an excellent start here. Egypt are on the back foot, as they were for pretty much the whole of the first half against Cameroon in their semi-final.
Mane had to wait almost three minutes to take that penalty…
7 mins: What a save!
Mane, perhaps put off by the idea that Salah has told the ‘keeper where he likes to go, opts for power.
It’s just to the right of centre but Gabaski guesses right and denies him!
