Snap is conducting internal testing of a paid plan called Snapchat Plus, which apparently gives users early access to features and other capabilities. In a statement to The edgesaid Snap spokesperson Liz Markman:
We’re doing early internal testing of Snapchat Plus, a new subscription service for Snapchatters. We’re excited about the potential to share exclusive, experimental, and pre-release features with our subscribers, and learn more about how we can best serve our community.
According to screenshots and information posted on Twitter by app researcher Alessandro Paluzzi, Snap is also testing other features for Snapchat Plus, including the ability to pin one of your friends as your “#1 BFF” (which sounds like a recipe for drama — MySpace didn’t make it for nothing the top eight ), change the Snapchat icon and see who is re-watching your stories. paluzzi show also that the price for Snapchat Plus is currently listed as 4.59 euros per month and 45.99 euros per year (about $4.84 and 48.50 respectively). At this stage, of course, these can only be temporary prices.
So… by subscribing to #snapchat+ you can:
1️⃣ Pin a friend as #1 BFF
2️⃣ Access Exclusive Snapchat Icons
3️⃣ Show a badge in your profile
4️⃣ See your job with BFF
5️⃣ View your friend’s whereabouts in the last 24 hours
6️⃣ See how many friends have re-watched your story

Snap is far from the only social network or messaging platform to operate on a paid tier — Telegram has confirmed it’s also working on a premium plan, due out later this month, and Twitter launched its Blue service late last year.
In the wake of Apple’s introduction of an ad privacy feature with iOS 14.5 that allows users to disable ad tracking on a per-app basis, many free apps have had to rethink how they make money. Snapchat, in particular, cited changes to iOS as the reason for missed revenue targets and has said it will slow hiring this year.
