Summer Game Fest is back again in 2023 with its first-ever in-person kick-off show on June 8, coincidentally a few days before E3’s big return.

This year, both Summer Game Fest and E3 are back with big in-person components in the Los Angeles area, preparing for a potentially huge gaming news season in June. Summer Game Fest kicks off with the June 8 show once again hosted by Geoff Keighley. The event will take place at the 6,000-seat YouTube theater in Inglewood, California, with tickets going on sale in early 2023. If you can’t attend the live event, you can watch it on the major streaming platforms.

E3 follows a little later, from June 13 to June 16, with special days for both gaming industry visitors and general consumers. There was a ‘Play Days’ component to the industry this year, and it’s unclear if that will be in 2023; when asked if it would return, spokesperson Jackie Moore said that Summer Games Fest is currently “announcing the Kickoff show, and we’ll have more details in 2023.”

“Over the past three years, Summer Game Fest has built an incredible community around the world through our digital-first events, and we are excited to invite thousands of fans to experience the SGF show in person for the first time in 2023 ,” said Geoff Keighley, curator and host of Summer Game Fest, in a press release. “In keeping with tradition, we will have plenty of exciting announcements from the developers pushing the gaming industry forward, and will once again highlight other publisher digital events, demos and more surprises to be announced in the coming months.”
