Earlier this month, Netflix finally released the highly anticipated first season of the fantasy drama series The Sandman. The first season of the series ended leaving fans with some unanswered questions in their minds. Now they await the return of The Sandman Season 2.
Developed by David S. Goyer, Allan Heinberg and Lian Smith, Netflix’s The Sandman is an American fantasy drama series based on the books of the same name by Neil Gaiman. The series follows Morpheus/Dream as he battles a terrain called The Endless.
What to expect from The Sandman season 2?
When The Sandman Season 2 returns, and if it continues the first season’s habit of following the books, it will feature Dream Country and The Season of Mists. Dream Country is a collection of one-off stories featuring the well-known ‘Dream of a Thousand Cats’ and ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’. Morpheus’ encounter with a young William Shakespeare in 1589 in The Sandman episode 6 was the reason for this.
One of the most famous and influential stories from The Sandman is The Season of Mists. The Sandman season 1 conclusion, when Lucifer promised retaliation against Morpheus, set the tone. The story of Dream’s ex-lover Nada, whom he banished to hell 10,000 years ago, is also brought to an end. The name of the child born in the Dreaming to Lyta Hall is also made public. Two additional Endless characters, Destiny and Delirium, and Gaiman’s interpretation of Thor, Loki, and Odin of the Norse gods, are also introduced in The Season of Mists.
Why does desire want to cheat the dream?
Surprisingly, Desire is at the heart of the big reveal that takes place during the pivotal scene with Rose, Unity and Dream. The problem is Dream’s fault because Rose’s other parent is also Dream’s sibling. This is quickly confirmed by a tense battle between Dream and Desire. But the motivation for Desire’s Desire to trick Dream into doing a potentially negative action for him. And the endless remains unanswered.
There must be a long history between the two that the program hasn’t delved into yet. Especially since Desire doesn’t show up in many situations, maybe strategies and keep watch in the background. It would be intriguing to learn more about Desire’s motives. And the past events with Dream that continue to motivate them to plot against him.
When is The Sandman Season 2 Coming?
The entire first season of The Sandman premiered on Netflix on August 5. The first season consisted of ten episodes in total. Meanwhile, talking about the show’s potential future, Netflix hasn’t officially announced its second season yet. However, know that the first season ended on a cliffhanger.
Since the series is based on literature, there is no shortage of source material to continue the series for subsequent seasons. At the same time, fans should know that Allan Heinberg has revealed that he has already started the script for The Sandman Season 2. This is certainly a positive sign. That’s why we urge fans to sit back and wait for Netflix to officially announce The Sandman Season 3.
