Life and career

Joya grew up in a Jewish family in California, and in school she excelled in her academic skills. Growing up, she became interested in pursuing a career as a doctor, so after her admission to high school, she completed a bachelor’s degree, before enrolling at Georgetown University as part of the medical program.

The private university is one of the oldest and most selective schools in the country, known for numerous prestigious programs and alumni made up of many prolific politicians.

She completed her studies there and then went to live in Los Angeles at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. She then began a specialization in internal medicine and has remained with Cedars-Sinai ever since. The large hospital is known for its focus on advanced technological treatments and is considered one of the top hospitals in the country. She is also affiliated with the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.

Jon is the son of two teachers and at a young age he developed a love for storytelling. His imagination and storytelling skills were developed thanks to playing “Dungeons & Dragons” games with his friends. The film tells the story of American football player Daniel Ruettiger and is considered one of the greatest sports films of all time, which became a sleep hit in the 1990s. He then made a few guest appearances on shows before moving to Los Angeles to pursue more opportunities.

In 1996, Favreau was hired as a screenwriter for the film “swingers”, which he also played in, which became the big break for both him and Vince Vaught whom he befriended a few years ago; the film tells the story of unemployed actors struggling in Hollywood.

As his fame grew, he landed more notable roles, including a guest appearance in “Friends” and the television movie “Rocky Marciano”. He also starred in “Love & Sex” alongside Famke Jannsen. While working on directorial efforts, he continued to act in films, including 2003’s “daredevilstarring Ben Affleck. In the same year, he directed the Will Ferrell movie “Eleven” starring Peter Dinklage and Zooey Deschanel, which was a huge success and elevated his status as a major film director.

His next project would be “Zathura”, a movie set in the same universe as “Jumanji”. Although he mainly worked as a director, he still chose to occasionally take a supporting role in projects.

Recent Efforts – Jon Favreau

Other notable projects Jon has worked on include “Cowboys & Aliens” and “The Jungle Book”. In 2008, he worked on the first Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film “Iron Man” with Robert Downey Jr. set the stage for what would become one of the biggest movie franchises in history. He also directed the sequel “Iron Man 2”, and would become heavily involved in numerous MCU projects such as The Avengers movies and Spider-Man movies, in which he is mostly credited as an executive producer.

His latest MCU project is “Spider-Man: Far From Home”, which deals with the universe in the wake of “Avengers: Endgame”.

With his work with Marvel and Disney, he has also been involved in several “Star Wars” projects. He voiced the character Pre Vizsla in “Clone Wars” and also imagined the first Disney+ “Star Wars” series “The Mandalorian”, which was released in 2019. Set five years after the events of “Return of the Jedi”, the show follows the life of the titular character, a Mandalorian bounty hunter. The series was highly successful during its first season, leading to to a quick renewal for the second season.

It became one of the biggest streaming series of 2019 and helped create one of the most recent beloved characters on television, The Child, better known as Baby Yoda.

Private life

Joya met Jon in Los Angeles and started a relationship before breaking into the industry. They stayed together for several years and got married in 2000; they have three children, one of whom is one cameo appearance in “Iron Man 2”. She is the niece of talk show host “Len Tillem”, who is known for his work on radio and podcasts, and was a part of KKSF News Talk’s programming in early 2010. The couple is very interested in technology and are big fans of both fantasy and geek culture.
