It’s the biggest north London derby in years as Tottenham host Arsenal in a potentially decisive clash in the race for Champions League football.

The Gunners make the short trip to face their rivals with a four-point cushion going into the final three games of the season, meaning they will still be in fourth whatever happens tonight.

But Mikel Arteta and his side know that victory would seal a top-four spot and book their return to Europe’s top table for the first time since the 2016/17 season.

For Tottenham, victory is really a necessity. Antonio Conte’s side were impressive at Anfield in their last match to earn a point, and will have a raucous home crowd behind them as they look to close the gap to the Gunners.

A win for Spurs tonight would mean they could be two points clear in fourth place by the time Arsenal travel to face Newcastle on Monday night, in what looks to be a tricky fixture.

With Simon Collings and Dan Kilpatrick at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, follow all the action with Standard Sport’s LIVE blog below…

Prediction

Tottenham, four points adrift of their rivals in fifth with three games to go, simply have to win and certainly boast the attacking talent to cause Arsenal real problems.

Still, as strong as Spurs are at home under Conte, Arsenal have learned how to grind results out. With the Gunners potentially matching Tottenham up with a back three and knowing a point would be a good result, it could be a tight affair.

1-1 draw.

Arsenal team news

Arsenal could be without both Ben White and Bukayo Saka for tonight’s clash.

England centre-back White missed the wins over West Ham and Leeds with a hamstring issue, while Saka was substituted against the latter on Sunday after suffering a knock.

Both are in a race against time to be fit for a crunch meeting with rivals Spurs in the race for Champions League qualification.

“Thomas [Partey] is still out, Kieran [Tierney] is still out and with Ben he is still a doubt, we have to assess him and see how he is feeling, which is much better,” Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta told reporters on Wednesday. “With Bukayo, it’s the same.”

Predicted Arsenal XI (3-4-2-1): Ramsdale; White, Holding, Gabriel; Tomiyasu, Elneny, Xhaka, Saka; Odegaard, Smith Rowe; Nketiah

Tottenham team news

Tottenham could be without Sergio Reguilon for the rest of the season due to a groin problem, with Antonio Conte complaining about having just 15 senior players available for the season’s run-in. Oliver Skipp remains injured along with Japhet Tanganga and Matt Doherty.

Largely, the Italian’s first-choice starting XI picks itself with little in the way of surprise changes expected as things stand. Luckily for him, there are no fresh injury concerns.

Conte xwill be wary of fatigue though after a gruelling 90 minutes against Liverpool and with Sunday’s match against Burnley a 12pm kick-off.

Predicted Tottenham XI (3-4-3): Lloris; Romero, Dier, Davies; Emerson, Bentancur, Hojbjerg, Reguilon; Kulusevski, Son, Kane.
