Online travel service platform Booking Holdings said on Thursday it will open a new center of excellence in Bengaluru. The center will support its financial system and software development, and will also enable collaboration opportunities between fintech and other key functions for the company and its brands.

The travel company has six main brands: Booking.com, Priceline, Agoda, Rentalcars.com, KAYAK and OpenTable.

The center will create jobs in fintech, IT and other roles, including roles in infrastructure engineering and architecture, software and financial systems development, the company said in a statement.

“Bengaluru is home to a large, highly skilled and diverse talent pool, with a thriving reputation in technology and finance, making this a great place to open our second center of excellence,” said Paulo PisanoChief Human Resources Officer at Booking Holdings.

He added: “Those working at this center will play an important, collaborative and exciting role in supporting the company’s growing fintech capabilities and leveraging digital travel innovation to enhance the travel experience for travelers and travel service providers across the globe. improve the world.”

The travel and hospitality sector was one of the hardest hit during the two years of the Covid-19 pandemic, when people were forced to stay at home for fear of the virus. As the world returns to normal and people start to travel again, the new center will support the growth of Booking Holdings and enable its vision for the future of travel.
