The English dub of Tsukimichi will be available soon for fans who prefer anime without subtitles or with their favorite English actors. According to crunchy rollsthe dubbed episodes will be streamed weekly on their platform starting at 3:15 PM PST / 6:15 PM EST on April 28, 2022.
In case you missed the news announcement, the anime sequel Tsukimichi -Moonlit Fantasy- Season 2 has been confirmed to be green-lighted for production.
Tsukimichi -Moonlit Fantasy- is an isekai series that follows Makoto Misumi, a Japanese student who is sent to a fantasy world. Despite traveling due to a contract from his family, Makoto is quickly abandoned by the goddess of the world because his appearance is considered “unappealing.”
With lots of comedic moments and jokes, this anime is one for fantasy fans to watch. And now that it’s available on Crunchyroll with an English sub, more viewers can easily watch it.
Who is Tsukimichi’s English Dub Voice Cast?
The show’s isekai protagonist, Makoto, who is abandoned by the goddess of the world because of his simple appearance, is voiced by Dallas Reid. Best known as the English voice actor of Black Clover’s Asta and Angels of Death’s Zack Foster, Reid is no stranger to voicing memorable protagonists.
Monica Rial will voice the voice of Tomoe, a larger dragon in human form who helps Makoto on his journey. Rial is no stranger to isekai and is known for her portrayal as Tanya of Youjo Senki.
Tia Ballard, who pronounces the good-hearted orc princess Emma. Fans probably know Ballard for her work on Darling in the FranXX as Zero Two or for portraying Fairy Tail’s adorable sidekick Happy.
The stoic moon god Tsukuyomi is voiced by Reagan Murdock. Murdock is a relative newcomer to anime dubbing and has voiced video game characters in the MOBA Smite and FPS Paladins.
Makoto’s former boyfriend Nukumi Hasegawa has Skyler McIntosh as her voice actress. McIntosh, who previously voiced Arifureta’s Kaori and Izetta: The Last Witch’s titular character, has experience with the isekai genre.
And finally, the goddess of the world is voiced by Jennifer AuBuchon. Another newcomer to the dubbing sphere, fans may remember her voice of the twins Ureirika and Kuuderika in Overlord.
Where can I learn more about the Tsukimichi story?
Now that an English dub of Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy is available, many new fans can get to know the series. But for those who want to dive deep and learn more of the knowledge, figuring out where to start can be daunting. There is a manga, light novel and web novel along with the anime adaptation. And each version has some minor differences, but generally nothing that changes the material greatly.
Originally, Tsukimichi started as a web novel Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Douchu created by Azumi Kei. The web series is only officially available in Japanese and has been adapted into a light-hearted novel that can be found on Alphapolis† Many chapters are free to read – the entire series costs Alphapolis’ premium currency.
In 2015, Alphapolis adapted the series into a manga – Kino Kotora illustrated the project. As with the light novel, the manga can be found both on Alphapolis website and their Alpha Manga app in Japanese. Unfortunately, there is no official English manga release. With so many fans of the new anime adaptation, perhaps a translated version of the manga will be available in the future.
