On September 23, 2022, VICTON’s Heo Chan personally apologized for his reckless driving while intoxicated. The 26-year-old K-pop star is taking a break and will not be involved in group or solo activities. According to IST Entertainment, the artist is under investigation and most likely his driver’s license will be revoked.

Heo Chan said in his letter that he regretted his actions and apologized for the events of September 20, 2022.

“Hello. Hee Chan here. First of all, I bow my head and offer my sincere apologies for bringing this horrific news so close to many important events. I apologize once again for causing a social uproar on September 20 as a result of my erroneous actions.”

He went on to say that he felt responsible for his actions and the pain they caused, not only to VICTON, but also to the others who worked behind the scenes to support the organization.

“As a prominent person who should set a good example for the general public and my supporters, I should have taken even more responsibility for my conduct, but instead I caused a huge disappointment by making the wrong decision in one moment. ”

He went on to say:

Most of all, I found myself thinking about myself and my shortcomings, thinking about our fans who have believed in me and encouraged me for the past six years, as well as my colleagues [VICTON] members, people at our agency, our many employees and the many other people who must have been hurt by my actions.”

VICTON’s Heo Chan also sincerely apologized for the “pain and disappointment” his actions caused to fans and others close to him.

IST Entertainment has announced a sabbatical for VICTON’s Heo Chan for drink-driving.

VICTON will be temporarily promoted as a five-member group starting Sept. 22, according to surprising news. This includes upcoming events, such as their CHRONICLE fan concert next month. The decision was made when IST Entertainment stated that VICTON’s Heo Chan had been arrested two days earlier, on September 20, for drunk driving. He was on his way home after meeting his friends. He is currently fully cooperating with the police investigation.

According to the agency, Heo Chan had “repented and thought about his behavior.” They also apologized to affected parties and fans for any inconvenience caused. The length of his suspension was not specified by the company. The VICTON member also sent a letter through his office on the same day as the official declaration. He expressed his grief in the letter, stating that he “meditated sincerely on my transgression, and I spend every day in regret and self-reproach.”

VICTON’s Heo Chan closed his letter with harsh remarks about his regret. He said he would remember the criticism leveled at him for his irresponsible actions and strive to become a better person. He said,

“In comparison to the pain and disappointment you all must have experienced as a result of this episode, I will repent many times more sincerely and feel this. [penitence] all the way to my bones.”

He continued:

“I will keep in my heart all the criticism and disapproval I receive for my irrevocable actions, and I will think carefully about myself so that I can live my life while becoming someone I am not ashamed of.”

Heo Chan from VICTON will be missing from the next fan concert CHRONICLE on October 15 and 16, 2022.
