Gripping crime thrillers and police dramas are not new to the British public. In fact, there is a whole list of such shows on British television. However, every year there are more and more shows in the genre, attracting audiences with intriguing stories. Another such addition to the list is iTV’s Trigger Point. Meanwhile, since the first season ended, fans have been waiting for Trigger Point Season 2. So let’s discuss what we know about it.
Written and created by Daniel Brierley, ITV’s Trigger Point is a crime thriller drama series. The show follows Lana Washinton, a military veteran who leads the police bombing service against a terror threat in London.
Is Trigger Point Season 2 Coming?
The first season of the crime thriller series premiered on ITV on January 23, 2022 and the season ended on February 27, 2022. Meanwhile, there is no confirmation yet on the future of the show. However, as previously discussed, showrunner Daniel Brierley has expressed a desire to make a second season. He even has plans about what the second season will be about. So there’s a chance the series will return with Trigger Point Season 2. But we’ll have to wait for the official announcement.
What is Trigger Point Season 2 about?
The far-right group English Flag took it personally on the first season of Trigger Point when they murdered Wash’s best friend and colleague Joel Nutkins and her occasionally troubled brother Billy. However, they also left clues and a trail of hints that she and her team could follow to uncover the truth.
The first season of Trigger Point ended on a cliffhanger. If the show is renewed for Trigger Point Season 2, the story will continue after the events of the first season. The second season could focus on another terror attack on London. The organization called English Flags could return in the second season, or we could see a new terror group in the second season bringing the people of London into trouble.
Meanwhile, showmaker Brierley has also expressed his wish for the show to delve deeper into Lana Washington’s complex psychology. He stated, “I think Lana is resilient, and she’s rock hard, and that’s part of her charm. But I can’t help but think it’s having an effect, and that was really interesting,” Brierley said. If the show gets future seasons, the showrunners want to infiltrate that character.
The British crime drama cast stars Vicky McClure in the lead role of Lana Washington, Adrian Lester as Joel Nutkins and Tom Stokes as Pete. Then there’s Gavin Sibson as PS Costa, Cal MacAninch as Inspector Lee Robins. Gwynfor Jones appears as P.S. Brown. Meanwhile, the series also features Mark Stanley as DI Thom Youngblood and Manjinder Virk as DI Samira Desai. And Eric Shango essay Danny.
At the same time, there are Ralph Ineson as Bregman, Warren Brown as Karl Maguire and Kerry Godliman as Sonia Reeves. In addition, Nabil Elouahabi stars as Hassan Rahim, Nadine Marshall as Marianne Hamilton and Kris Hitchen as John Hudson. When the show returns with Trigger Point Season 2, we expect the majority of the main cast members to reprise their roles. We can also see some new additions to the cast if the story calls for it.
