Kalecia Williams is noted as a teen who was murdered while making a TikTok video. She lost her life to a gunshot wound at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Atlanta. The tragic incident happened around midnight the day after Christmas.

The time between cessation of making TikTok videos and the reported time of her death has many stories. There are just too many variables in Williams’ death; from being in a place she shouldn’t be, her mysterious relationship with her killer to who exactly took her body to the police.

Even to this day, the case keeps getting new developments and theories. However, it is all speculation and guesswork at best. So know exactly what happened the day Kalecia Willaims was murdered, who her killer was, her parents and beyond.

Kalecia Williams Parents

Born in 2004, Williams was the daughter of April Smith and the stepchild of Ronney Savoy. Williams, who died at age 16, attended South Atlanta High School. Some say she was also a student at Crawford W Long Middle School.

Kalecia Williams made a Tiktok video seconds before someone shot her

Just before Williams’ death, at about 12:02 p.m., the young teen put her phone down in front of her and began making some physical moves for her TikTok account, @Kaleciawilliams1.

While she was making her TikTok video, someone entered her room and Williams stopped her recording. Due to the suspension of the recordings, it is still unclear what happened next. After some time, Kalecia, who was often called Pinky by her parents, died.

Police found Williams’ unconscious body in the hotel lobby, accompanied by people to be named. the doctors declared 16-year-old dead as soon as they got her for treatment. Williams’ death anniversary is listed as December 26, 2020 at 12:23 p.m.

What really happened moments before Williams’ death?

Since the day Kalecia died, there have been multiple stories of what really happened. The most retold among them are:

The day of the murder, Williams would be at an Airbnb party with her friends. Williams had received an invitation from one of her friends, named Infiniti, to a Christmas party.

It is from here that Pinky’s story of the day she died has several stories.

Story 1: A chaperone booked a hotel room for Kalecia Williams

This particular lore goes like:

Previously, Infiniti’s mother had spoken to Kalecia’s mother and assured her that she would accompany Williams and all her friends.

Infiniti’s mother had also told Williams’ mother that there would be only girls. Williams’ parents were arranged for their daughter to stay in an Airbnb with her classmates; all girls. However, none of the things Infiniti’s mother said to Kalecia’s mother was true. First, there were no chaperones and the party also had two guys.

Story 2: Williams stayed in a private hotel instead of an Airbnb

This story is about a chaperone who gave Pinky a hotel room and paid for it. According to this information, April Smith’s daughter first reached the party venue when no one else was there.

Kalecia reached Hyatt Regency around 8/9 pm, after which she called her mother to tell her she would be the first to come and no one was there.

Williams was present at the party, but afterwards the chaperone had taken her to a hotel in Hyatt Regency along with several other children. It’s also unclear why the chaperone took Williams to the Hyatt Regency Atlanta Hotel rather than an Airbnb. However, some have questioned this theory, asking why the chaperone hadn’t notified Williams’ mother if he had bought a room for Kalecia.

Story 3: What Happened Right After Kalecia Williams Stopped Her TikTok Video

Williams had just come from the party, shortly after she started recording herself dancing for a TikTok video. Within seconds, she stops the video.

Afterward, some people in nearby rooms heard the gunshot and came to Williams’ assistant. The two men carried Kalecia and took her to the lobby before calling the police. When the police finally arrived, they found that Pinky was not breathing and that she had no discernible pulse.

Story 4: A woman from the hotel said some hidden details about Williams’ death that day

It had been several days since Kalecia Williams’ death when a South Carolina woman who happened to be at the hotel that day reached out to the late teen’s parents and told them she could have seen what had happened right after Williams was shot. .

She said she saw two men carrying Williams’ unconscious body; one had one leg of Kalecia and the other man had the other. The woman reported that the boys told each other that she (Kalecia) had been shot. Some time later, the woman admits that she also helped escort Pinky’s injured body alongside the two boys she named.

This woman also apparently filmed the pracademic attempting to resuscitate Kalecia. According to this video, Kalecia had much less blood than what was initially told to the victim’s parents. Earlier, officials reported that Kalecia was soaked in a pool of blood. As a result, this is also one of the mysteries of Williams’ death.

Story 5: Williams had a hotel room booked by other people

Apparently it was another group of parents who bought the room for Kalecia at the Hyatt. This story also claims that there were three minors who carried Williams’ injured body to the hotel lobby.

In addition to multiple media theories, several Tiktokers and Instagram reels have also spoken, analyzed and expressed their views on Williams’ case. Though most of their thoughts and conclusions or views on the matter are very similar to the above mentioned stories.

Kalecia Killer was a boy under 18; He only served a year in prison

Some time after the hotel incident, it was revealed that Williams’s killer was a boy her own age. According to reports, the officials arrested the boy at the crime scene. Police later charged the killer with sexual and aggravated assault, underage gun possession, felony murder and reckless conduct.

A few days after the arrest of Pinky’s killer, the police sent him to the Metro Regional Youth Detention Center. Because he was a minor, the police could not reveal his name to the public.

A few or two reports claim that the person Williams got scared in the Tiktok video she was making was Kerie Brown. They apparently had a brief altercation before the boy fatally shot Kalecia. Brown allegedly sexually assaulted Williams and shot her in the groin out of anger.

The boy was also present at the party to which Williams was invited. And it was the same boy she was arguing with. After they invaded Pinky while she was making a Tiktok, the boy and the killed youngster reportedly fought for a while and the boy later ended up fatally shooting Williams.

Atlanta police said she and a teenage boy were the only ones in the room at the time of the shooting. According to the investigators, the two were acquaintances and had known each other for a while. Police allege that Williams was in fact staying with a male companion at the hotel.

Whoever her killer was, it was reported that he was only behind bars for 1 year in juvenile detention. He was released in early 2022. Williams’ family has not accepted the officials’ decision to let their daughter’s killer go. There is still a petition change.org plead for Kalecia’s justice.

Kalecia’s parents knew about their daughter’s death much later

Williams parents April and Ronney Savoy did not know of their daughter’s death until 8 hours after the incident. They’d called their daughter, but Williams’s counselor didn’t answer any of their calls for reasons unknown.

Later, the chaperone did call Pinky’s guardians, but apparently they got the news much later. April and Savoy expressed anger at the chaperone after the tragic news, later arguing that the overseer should have been held accountable as well.

Also, while Kalecia’s friend, Infiniti spoke personally with the victim’s mother, nothing she said was plausible. Infiniti told Williams’ mother that her daughter screamed for several minutes until she passed out. But so far there are no other witnesses or evidence.

Kalecia Williams Parents Still Fighting For Proper Investigation

While there are one too many stories about what really happened to Pinky, during a conversation with Fox 5, April Smith said the whole case of her daughter’s murder was foul play and she was trying to put all the pieces together.

Smith further complained about why it took authorities eight hours to report her daughter’s death. She also says that the news came from the morgue rather than from the police. The parents say to this day that not enough has been done.

Some details of Williams’ obituary and funeral

Kalecia’s obituary states that the next day after her death, the Williams family performed their deceased daughter’s funeral at the Life Changing Work of Faith Church, Washington Road.

The family held its Homegoing Services on Saturday at 2pm at Life Changing Faith Walk 3178 Washington rd Eastpoint. The remains were interred at 12:30 PM in the Forrest Hills Cemetery. The viewing of Kalecia took place on Friday, January 1, 2021 at the RW Andrews Mortuary from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
